Inspiring Conversations with Brittney Oddo of ATB Social

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Oddo. 

Hi Brittney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Brittney Oddo and I’m the CEO and Lead Content Strategist at ATB Social. My journey began in college where I started to discover who Brittney really was. It was so important to me to do something I loved. So, I put a lot of thought into choosing a major based on having a career that was fulfilling. 

For me, connecting with people has always felt like a challenge. When I’m talking, my brain is either at hyperspeed or barely operating. Social anxiety was at an all-time high my whole life which meant communication was always a struggle. But I noticed one way I was always able to express myself – through writing. 

Growing up, my happy place was with a pen or keyboard at hand. Anything I couldn’t communicate in person, came out perfectly in written form. I even used my writing in so many creative forms as a child. 

After college, I decided to start my blog According to Brittney which evolved into the brand we know today – ATB Social! Now, I write social media and blog content for my clients and teach others how to write content for their businesses! 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road, for sure! During the pandemic, we saw a lot of growth which was great, but as a solopreneur, it was a lot to handle. We doubled in clients which meant we doubled in work. As a creative, burnout can be detrimental. With so many clients, I was creatively and mentally burnt out. So many times, I had thought about giving up, especially since I also work full-time! But, instead, I learned to outsource, train and delegate tasks, so I could better serve my clients. Burnout is so real and it’s important to learn how to cope!

The biggest risk our team has taken is teaching our proven strategy to others. We hosted classes and training that dive deep into our signature process which may seem like a large risk! But we pride ourselves on helping entrepreneurs understand and create content. We hope to have more classes in the future!
