Hidden Gems: Meet Regina Alhassan of ResearchPRO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Alhassan.

Hi Regina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I didn’t plan on it but I’ve spent my entire career in major gift fundraising, specializing in building and managing pipelines of donors with giving capacity of $1 million or more. My first job in fundraising was with my alma mater, The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. I learned a great deal about the art and science of philanthropy at Ohio State. Before departing University Development, I had the great fortune of building donor pools to support multi-billion-dollar campaigns. Now, in my own firm, I am able to replicate that success for non-profit organizations across the country. I fell into fundraising right out of undergrad and it stuck! I remain genuinely inspired by the generosity of others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, there are obstacles and challenges – that’s life. I navigate obstacles with a steady faith in my Creator as well as the support of my village. Over the years, I have crafted a supportive network of family, friends, colleagues, clients, therapists, and coaches. Challenges happen. With the right team around me, I am able to remain resilient.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ResearchPRO, LLC?
ResearchPRO is my prospect development consulting which I founded in 2017. I partner with non-profit leaders to identify qualified giving prospects for multi-million-dollar fundraising campaigns. My clients enjoy improved development operations and donor stewardship as well as increased contributed revenue.

Prospect Development a niche industry under the larger umbrella of Philanthropy. The industry itself sets me apart from so many other small businesses. My field of industry is never listed in a dropdown menu of business categories. And my research, data analysis, and knowledge management expertise creates a lane for me that actually complements other fundraising consulting firms. I regularly partner with firms who provide campaign strategy. Those firms build the plan and help set fundraising goals for non-profit organizations. My firm does the analysis to identify the best donors and builds out systems to maximize the CRM which in turn fosters more consistent and engaging donor relations.

I take great pride in knowing that my work has played some part in making the world a better place. My total identified dollars is in the Billions. My research and donor identification has resulted in endowed scholarships at a major university, medical research, a women’s shelter, a women’s healing group, mobile dentistry program, beautiful gardens, research facilities, books for children, veterinary services; the list goes on. That’s thrilling. I, like many others, want to leave the world better than I found it. I like big gifts and enjoy helping fundraisers reach their highest goals. It’s exciting to think about working with people who are passionate about their organization’s mission. I’m a big softie when it comes to non-profits and joining motivated, high-caliber teams is deeply rewarding.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the arts scene in Columbus! This city is brimming with creatives and innovators. I find the energy inspiring.
