Hidden Gems: Meet Jenna Bull of Bull + Beloved

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Bull. 

Hi Jenna, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Being invited into one of the most intimate and special days of someone’s life (their wedding day) is such a rewarding feeling. And as soon as you are a part of planning and designing a wedding, you become addicted! 

Hi, I’m Jenna Bull, the owner of Bull + Beloved! I fell in love with wedding planning over 5 years ago when I worked under the apprenticeship of a local Wedding Planner in Lexington, Kentucky. I acted as a sponge, soaking up everything I could from my internship. But helping couples dream up and execute their wedding quickly became more than a job to me but rather a passion. So, when I graduated and the time finally came for me to get married to my husband, Chris, I was beyond excited. I already knew that I would feel at home when it came to planning our big day. From vendor shopping to budget management, to timeline creation, and decor design, I was in heaven. What I didn’t expect was how fun I was going to have bringing Chris along in the process! 

After Chris and I got married, we found ourselves working together to help some of our friends plan their weddings. That’s when we started dreaming… What would it look like to do more than just a wedding here and there? What would it look like to use our planning skills and love for relationships to help more couples? That is when we decided to fully chase after Bull + Beloved. 

Fast forward to this summer, and we are now booking into 2024! Each day we get to know and serve a new couple is an amazing day. We’ve been able to form a lot of genuine friendships with our clients and we’re so excited for what’s to come over the next year! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since we started dreaming up Bull + Beloved in the middle of a pandemic, we had to be extremely patient. It was evident that a pandemic wasn’t the time to start a wedding planning business because weddings weren’t even happening for the most part. So, we eagerly waited and spent a lot of time in strategy mode. We worked on our processes and planning resources, built our website, researched pricing, and continued to decide whether we could make Bull + Beloved possible. When the beginning of 2022 came around and society seemed to be heading towards some kind of (new) normalcy, we felt a push that it was now time to jump in! That’s when we started putting ourselves out there on social media, wedding vendor sites, and in our own circles of influence. Getting momentum was probably the hardest and scariest part of committing to start Bull + Beloved. Prior to this year, we always thought we’d have to have everything figured out before starting a business. At first, some things like bookkeeping, designing an attractive brand, and running social media accounts were a little intimidating. But we’ve learned that sometimes you have to just go for it. You end up learning so much and you refine your strategy along the way! 

As you know, we’re big fans of Bull + Beloved. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Bull + Beloved’s business model is unique compared to other companies in the industry because we are run by a husband-and-wife duo. Since we have been through wedding planning together, we know what it is like to be engaged and eagerly awaiting marriage. We believe this makes the services we provide that much stronger. We respect that each couple has different needs and we work hard to make sure every one of them is met. That is why we like to get to know our couples and their stories before we dive into the planning process. Not only does it help us plan an amazing wedding, but it allows us to truly invest in the couples that we work with! 

We offer three different packages, and all three have the ability to be customized. We have a Day Of Coordinator Package, a Deluxe Day Of Coordinator Package, and a Full Planning Package. Our Day of Coordinator Package includes everything you’d want to make sure your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible. Our Deluxe Day of Coordinator Package includes that of the previous package and additional services that allow us to coordinate your rehearsal, conduct a venue walkthrough, and spend 4 additional hours working the day of your wedding. Lastly, our Full Planning Package is our most inclusive package and it allows you to hire us for everything from vendor selection to decor design. What does success mean to you?
We truly believe that each couple deserves to be dearly loved on their wedding day. This means our services and deliverables are anchored in this belief. When we can love our clients by making them feel like they’re guests at their wedding and not hosts, then we’ve succeeded. Overall, our goal is for each couple to get lost in celebration at their wedding. This happens when we provide them with peace of mind instead of having to think about schedules, logistics, or any problems that might arise. 

When I think about Bull + Beloved 5 years down the road, I think of a company that is known for loving people first and weddings second. If that’s a reputation we can build, then I have no doubt that I will wake up every day feeling like what we’ve built is a success.
