Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Sniezek.
Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Evolve Counseling initially started as my “side gig,” and within a few months, I was able to quit my full-time job and solely focus on growing my private practice. Within a few short months, our team quickly grew, and now we are a team of 19 individuals with one goal in mind, helping the individuals in our community. I am honored to be serving our community alongside of an incredible team! Our practice has grown, and our team has expanded; however, our goal of helping individuals, families, and couples with their mental health has remained the same.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We are truly in the midst of a mental health crisis, and our biggest challenge has been turning individuals away for services due to not being able to keep up with the demand. It is incredible that so many people are trusting us and referring their loved ones to us; however accepting that we, unfortunately, can’t help everyone has been challenging. As therapist, we have empathic helping hearts, and it is difficult to turn someone away in need.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Evolve Counseling, LLC?
We are a group of clinicians that provide mental health services in a private practice setting. We offer family therapy, individual therapy, play therapy, group therapy, EMDR and trauma treatment, marriage and family therapy, and Christian counseling services. From the second you walk into our practice, it is warm and welcoming. Our team is well-trained and provide top-notch therapy services. Within the last few months, I have started to offer consultation services; this allows me to come alongside other counseling practice owners on growing their practice and helping them to achieve their goals.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
YES! 50% of all Americans have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder within the last year according to the CDC. Anxiety, depression, and unresolved grief have been some of the most challenging to help our clients navigate. Covid isolated so many people and triggered depression in many individuals. During the covid-19 crisis therapists also quickly adapted and began to offer Telehealth counseling services, and I am so thankful for this and the ability to reach clients that may not be comfortable coming into the office. We continue to offer Telehealth counseling services.
