Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Coleman.
Hi Brianna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was younger, I always told myself I wasn’t creative simply because I couldn’t draw on paper. In high school, I was introduced to photography through taking a semester class. I instantly fell in love. I’m originally from Cincinnati, but right out of high school in 2017, I moved down to St. Pete Beach, Florida. I started taking photos with my Nikon and phone of the beautiful landscape. Eventually, through my job at a real estate office, I fell into real estate photography. I knew then I wanted to work for myself. At that time, since I was only 18, I didn’t have the courage to step out on my own in business just yet.
I had such a passion for taking photos and that evolved into making content for social media. I grew my personal account to 17.5k organically. With this audience, I was invited to a business opportunity that quickly changed my life. I started with a network marketing company in 2018. I became so obsessed with growing my Instagram, taking UGC style photos with the products, and leading my team on how to make sales. I had that passion for social media. I was leading training calls with 200 people on it on how to grow their personal brand. I was mind-blown at that because if you told the girl in 2017 who had public speaking anxiety that she would have fallen off her chair.
While my dreams of going to the top of the compensation plan came to a screeching stop in 2021, I still learned so much in my time with this company. I realized what I loved to do and what I wanted my career to look like. I wanted to create and be creative for a living but didn’t know what that would look like.
2021 and 2022 were really hard years. I felt like I was spinning my wheels at different jobs. My imposter syndrome was through the roof. I had all these great ideas but never executed. My mind felt like an intense tennis match of going back and forth on what to do. Everyone knew me as the girl who was obsessed with network marketing, and I hated the fact that I had to admit that I “failed.” I went ghost on social media and didn’t post but 5 times in the span of a whole year.
In January 2023, I was driving down Gulf Blvd on St. Pete Beach, I saw this adorable, new boutique go up and open up shop. I thought to myself, “What if I ran their social media account? They just opened up. I’m sure they would love the exposure.” That idea turned into me doing all the research I could into the world of social media management and virtual assistant businesses. Fast forward to October of 2023, my husband and I moved to Cincinnati to be closer to family. In the transition of moving, we decided it was time to go full-time in my business. B C Visual Solutions was born! I offer services of social media management, virtual assistance, UGC content creation (user-generated content), and I revamped my Etsy store Bri C Design Co, which was one of my ideas I envisioned in 2022.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all! This journey has been so bumpy. I have been an old wooden rollercoaster ride at best. I struggled with imposter syndrome, comparison, depression, anxiety. Jesus delivered me from all of that. I turn off all the noise of social media and create in my own lane and for His glory.
As you know, we’re big fans of B C Visual Solutions. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
B C Visual Solutions was created to empower small businesses and women entrepreneurs to unlock their full potential in the digital space. Having a small business can sometimes feel like you’re a small fish in a big pond. I want to tailor my services to your needs. I created packages, but I also offer something I don’t see very often with other social media managers. I offer custom packages as well. On a discovery call, we sit down, go over your needs, and see what best fits the business. Say a business owner needs 2 items from my package and wants to switch out the other 2-line items for other services that best fit them. That’s an example of a customized package. A customized approach works best. Not every package is a one-size-fits-all, in my opinion.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m actually very introverted. Or should I say, extroverted/introverted. Extroverted when I need to be, but 90% of the time, I’m very introverted. I love to work from home with music in the background with my essential oils in my diffuser. In a room full of people, I’m the quiet one in the corner.
