Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Morrow.
Hi Ashley , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into this work wasn’t just professional, it was deeply personal. For over 18 years, I’ve worked in the field of mental health and addiction, walking alongside individuals and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life-altering challenges. This has been both volunteer-based and professionally. My passion for this work comes from overcoming my own battles many years ago.
Through my own healing journey, I acquired not just clinical tools that support mental health, but most importantly the transforming power of faith. I discovered that true healing requires more than behavior change, it requires renewing the mind, healing the heart, and reconnecting with identity and purpose.
My own experienced, along with my time in the mental health field, led me to create my coaching practice, where I now work primarily with women who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in unhealthy patterns. I combine evidence-based emotional health tools with biblical principles to help women move from survival mode into peace, strength, and clarity. Today, I offer individual coaching, group programs, and workshops, (and soon adding retreats) focused on emotional renewal and spiritual growth.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Helping people navigate some of their most challenging issues is difficult on its own, but turning my passion into a coaching practice has been extremely hard.
I have to be careful of burnout, as I pour into others and ensure I don’t run on empty myself.
I also have learned that building something meaningful takes more than passion; it takes courage, perseverance, faith, strategy, and sustainability.
I have been building this business from a dream the Lord gave me many years ago, but in the difficult times, doubt starts to sneak in and tempt me to question if this was truly the road I was meant to take.
Balancing being a wife and raising four kids in the midst of pursing what I believe is my calling has its own challenges as well. I need to always ensure my husband, kids and home are taken care of as I also seek to help others.
There are also struggles financially. Starting something new means financial uncertainty, starting over more than once, learning marketing and business structure, and building trust in a local community (and the virtual world) all come with levels of difficulty.
But every struggle has taught me valuable lessons. It’s taught me resilience. It’s deepened my faith. And I believe there is purpose in it all, and in the end, I wouldn’t trade the lessons for anything.
As you know, we’re big fans of Abundant Life Coaching. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is centered around helping women move from emotional overwhelm to inner strength.
I specialize in emotional and mental health coaching for women who feel exhausted, anxious, stuck in survival mode, or trapped in destructive thought patterns. Many of the women I work with are high-functioning on the outside but internally struggling with anxiety, burnout, unresolved trauma, or chronic stress.
What sets my work apart is the integration of evidence-based emotional health tools with faith-centered transformation. I don’t believe healing is only spiritual, and I don’t believe it’s only clinical, I believe it’s both. I combine nervous system education, thought pattern work, emotional regulation tools, and trauma-informed practices with biblical truth and identity renewal. The goal isn’t just symptom management; it’s deep renewal from the inside out.
Through one-on-one coaching, group programs, workshops, retreats, and digital resources, I guide women through a structured transformation process that helps them:
• Understand their emotional patterns
• Regulate stress and anxiety
• Renew unhealthy thought cycles
• Rebuild confidence and identity
• Strengthen their relationship with God
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my work is known for being safe, compassionate, and deeply grounded in truth. Women often tell me they feel seen, understood, and not judged, and that they leave sessions feeling both calmer and clearer.
At its heart, my brand is about renewal. It’s about helping women realize they are not broken beyond repair. Healing is possible. Peace is possible. Strength is possible. And they don’t have to walk that journey alone.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
One of the most valuable decisions I’ve made in my journey has been investing in mentorship and community.
My advice for finding a mentor is simple: look for someone who has the fruit you want in both their life and their leadership. Do not just look for success. Look for character, balance, integrity, and sustainability. Skills can be learned, but authenticity, wisdom and alignment are foundational.
I also encourage people not to wait for the ‘perfect’ connection. When we seek perfection, we miss out on amazing opportunities for connection and growth. Show up consistently, join a local business group, participating in community events, engage online in meaningful ways, or invest in a mastermind or coaching space.
What has worked well for me is being willing to both learn and contribute. Networking isn’t about collecting contacts, it’s about building genuine relationships. People desire authenticity, and I’ve found that when I approach connections with a genuine desire to know people, learn about them and connect, trust is established and relationships are formed naturally.
It’s also important to stay teachable. Always maintain a posture of growth, understanding that true growth requires humility. Some of my greatest moments of growth have come from hard but honest feedback and moments of being uncomfortable.
Lastly, don’t underestimate local community. There is incredible value in building relationships close to home. Supporting one another, collaborating, and sharing resources strengthens everyone.
