Today we’d like to introduce you to Tayla Chenelle.
Hi Tayla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey there! I’m Tayla Chenelle, a Cleveland born and raised millennial mama on a mission to live her best and most productive life–while encouraging and inspiring other moms to do the same. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Public Health from Baldwin Wallace University in 2015, and then went on to pursue and obtain dual Master’s degrees in Public Health and Business Administration from Benedictine University in 2021.
I launched my motherhood and productivity blog in September 2019, after working on it a few months during my maternity leave with my oldest daughter. I decided to start a blog to not only document my experience in balancing motherhood and womanhood but to also influence and motivate other millennial moms– showing them that life doesn’t stop just because you have a child. All it takes is a bit more time management and productivity skill.
Having lost my mother at the age of 17 and having an absent father, I do feel like I’m at a disadvantage sometimes when it comes to parenthood in general. My content will also serve as a sort of blueprint for my children so that they know what it was like raising them–and for them to reference when they create their own families.
The essence of time management and productivity is captured in my content across all platforms to reach and inspire other moms that we can literally do anything–with our little ones in tow!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Battling with anxiety, postpartum depression, and working to heal past traumas has certainly made my journey one for the books. I still have hard days, but my family is a driving force in me getting up each day to become the best version of myself. I honestly believe life is about taking the good with the bad, doing your part as an upstanding human, taking care of yourself and your family–and the rest will fall into place. The road hasn’t been easy by far, but it’s a road I’m blessed to be traveling on, as I continue to learn so much about myself that I never thought possible.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business provides productivity and time management resources to millennial moms who are looking to establish a healthy balance between motherhood and womanhood. Via a combination of lifestyle and informational content on both my blog and social platforms, I strive to be as authentic as possible in my experiences to connect with my readers. I am most proud of my tenacity and dedication to my business; despite the hurdles, I continue to overcome.
I want readers to know that although life gets REALLY REAL at times, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish if you plan, set realistic goals, and put the work in.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The Covid-19 crisis has taught me the true importance of giving folks their flowers while they’re here to receive them. So much can change in the blink of an eye, so live in the moment as much as you can. Give and soak up all the love around you, and always thank God for another chance at life.
