Today we’d like to introduce you to Sona Black.

Hi Sona, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Over the pandemic my daughters and I started selling lip gloss and once the lip gloss started to sell and we started to see a lot of police brutality we created Skin.so.black and later we also created skin.so.pure

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been easy working with your kids is hard because when you tell them to do something they think it’s punishment lol

Our business was created based off our family we are a blended family hints the business name lol. We wanted to create something that would inspire other blended families like ours and create generational wealth. We are known for making amazing lip gloss and Merchandise. We’re different because we have a brand we created on our own, we’re different because we are constantly coming up with different ways to market our brand so others can be inspired and buy our merchandise. Our brand is original and unique we want people to know that we’re a small business soon to be big business and we recently opened our very own retail store in EASTLAND mall as well as a lot of great black-owned stores. Skin.so.Black is actually a part of my last name lol and skin.so.pure is for each and every one of us it’s Made for all colors because a pure person is a person without malice evil or intent, it is a person who is honest and sincere.
