Sean , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Small Veteran-Owned business, we started in 2019 as a handyman company with the vision of expanding into remodeling. Since then, we have expanded into full house rehabs, with basement, kitchens and bathrooms being our specialty. Our goal is to leave our customers with a positive stress free experience. As of right now, we have accomplished that goal. As we roll into 2026, we’re planning on expanding into laser restoration. What this line of work does is restores wood back to its original form by removing the paint and stain without damaging the surface. In addition to that, it also removes paint and rust from metal surfaces. We’re really excited about the expansion of this kind of work .
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
having started in 2019, I definitely had some hurdles working through the COVID lockdown. At that time it was just me working alone, and fortunately we had enough work to keep the doors open. Fast forward to 2025, we have definitely had some ups and downs, but overall it’s been a challenging and positive experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As I noted before we specialize in handyman and remodeling (kitchens, bathrooms, and basements). In addition to that we also remodel commercial spaces. What sets apart is the ability to perform custom woodwork if needed, as well as offering more of a designer touch. I work with the clients to provide suggestions of finishes and functionality, while keeping all of our finish work “in-house” without subbing to outside contractors.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When I first started my business, I set up regular meetings with a non-profit company called SCORE. They had coordinated a retired CEO/business owner to help me through the early stages of running my business in effort to prevent me from making similar mistakes my mentor may have had. I found that their program was VERY helpful getting me rolling and smooth out the growing stages.
