Hi MiMi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised right here in Northwest Ohio, and after a bit of an adventure, I’ve happily found my way back home! My journey in education started at the University of Toledo, led me to earn an Associate of Arts from Columbus State, and even included some courses at Colorado Mountain College and Edison State.
My career really took off in Colorado, where I spent over a decade soaking up everything I could in the hospitality industry. I had some incredible experiences, working everywhere from charmingly haunted hotels in the Rocky Mountains to beautiful beachside resorts in Cape Cod. It was during those years, seeing all the behind-the-scenes magic of big events, that I truly fell in love with wedding planning. There’s just something so special about bringing all those intricate pieces together to create a seamless event.
Eventually, I settled down in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. There, I had the amazing opportunity to manage restaurants and a beloved family ranch that hosted more than 50 weddings and special events every year. That role was absolutely key in helping me understand exactly what it takes to be a truly effective wedding planner and what couples truly need for a stress-free and unforgettable wedding day.
Now, with all that experience under my belt, I’m thrilled to be back in Ohio! I’m excited to put everything I’ve learned into building MariBelle Events and helping create incredible events, right here closer to my roots.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a new business is definitely a journey filled with unknowns and challenges. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you’re facing so much uncertainty, but the key is to remember to take things one step at a time.
I’m incredibly lucky to have an amazing partner and a fantastic support system who are always there to help with whatever comes my way. Trying to launch a business entirely by yourself is practically impossible. The sooner you realize it’s absolutely okay to lean on others and ask for help when you need it, the smoother your path will be.

Here at MariBelle Events, we’re not just passionate about wedding and event planning; we’re also thrilled to announce that we are officially Ohio’s first Nordic Tent rental company!
Our goal is always to truly understand your unique story and vision, making sure every single detail, from the first idea to the final touch, perfectly reflects your style and brings unforgettable magic to your celebration.
Our Nordic Tent comes all the way from Sweden, and we’re incredibly proud to bring them to the Ohio market. They’re super versatile: they can comfortably host up to 100 guests, create a wonderfully romantic lounge or ceremony area for a wedding, and are even perfect for festivals or fairs. We can’t wait to see how clients will use it.
