Lawrence, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born, raised and reside in Cincinnati, Ohio. How I started and how I got here today? That’s a good question and quite the journey, I would have to start from the beginning. For as long as I can remember I’ve had an eye for detail and creativity. When I was 15, the first camera I picked up was a Canon camcorder and began taking video production classes during my time in high school. As I was learning about working behind the scenes my passion grew with the art of story-telling. My ideas and my vision were endless, and I wanted to be able to find ways to capture moments to share that would eventually become memories that last a life time.
After high school I attended Hocking College for Broadcast and Engineering from 2006-2009 to obtain my Associate Degree. However, through my time in college I felt that the material given to me wasn’t up to the standards of the direction I wanted to go. It felt great to say I graduated with a degree, but I wasn’t satisfied and I knew I had a greater purpose to be able to serve others while enjoying my passion.
I decided to take a break from video production, but during the time away I accidentally developed a new talent…photography! Though it was an accident to snap behind the lens, I absolutely loved taking pictures and turning images into stories. Not to mention seeing smiling faces after I take the pictures, it meant something special to me. It was then that I knew what I wanted to do in order to serve and provide an experience for viewers and clients.
While I was doing self-development with my talent, I knew I didn’t want to limit myself and stay focused on just one category. I eventually began networking with different organizations, models, sports and different people who were able to help me grow and groom me into a better photographer and videographer. Not only was I gaining understanding of clients needs, but I was utilizing my knowledge to see what I could do different to give clients a memorable experience.
With the passion growing and continuous development with my talent, I decided to take the leap of faith. In 2022 I made the decision to start my business, and L.Wright Productions LLC was born. I could utilize my skill, creativity, passion, and vision to capture moments for clients that will last a lifetime while running a business. Since I started my business I made it a goal and standard to put “Passion Behind the Artwork.” Meaning every time I’m behind the lens I make it a standard to not just deliver and serve clients, but I set the bar high for myself to put passion with every artwork I create from behind the lens.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is always rough when you start, especially when you’re an unfamiliar face that no one knows about. I feel that’s been the toughest part because you know your worth and you know your talent, but getting people to see your potential is a struggle when your starting out. Some may not even pay attention to your passion or business simply because they don’t believe in you or just because you’re different than others. It could be family or people you grew up with, but you use that as a fuel to keep going because you know your worth, your value, and your potential with the gift you’ve been blessed with.
As of right now the road is much better and I’m still learning each day, but the biggest take away is to keep going and don’t let anything stop you from preventing you from reaching your potential.
People say your biggest supporters can come from complete strangers that you’ve never met, and they’re absolutely right! You also don’t have to be like everyone else that you see in the field, because that takes away from who you are today. Just be you, stay true, move to the beat and the music you create for your journey. That’s one of the important things to remember when you’re turning artwork into a masterpiece.

My daughter is my greatest inspiration to be who I am and allow myself to be great. With me starting my business, I have the opportunity to show her its okay to follow your dreams and reach for the stars. You don’t have to continue be what everyone wants you to be. Only one person has the power to dictate who they want to become, and that’s the person who looks at themselves in the mirror with a reminder how great they are.

But with the right motivation, the right circle, and the right opportunity…things will begin moving in the direction that you set out through the planning process. He is the only artist in my city and state that saw something in me and continues to bring the best out. Out of other photographers he continues to work with me, which drives me to put my best foot forward to be at my best.
Esther, a great friend and colleague with a great business mindset. She has opened up doors for me to meet promoters, work events, and capture moments with the Cincinnati Bengals. To this day she continues to speak highly about me, my craft, and my vision behind my business.
Trojan Black Football and Money Team football was the first little league football organization that allowed me to come in and create highlights for the team. However, it was more than clients and I didn’t look at them as just a team. We were family and looking back at the memories that we captured I’m honored a privileged to work with with an outstanding organization and legendary football team.
My mother, I can’t say enough about her. She has supported me at my lowest and my rise to overcome odds against me. She kept believing in me and making my presence known, even when others have forgotten about me or doubt my future. I’m proud to be her son, but I’m blessed to call her my mother.
