Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Fumic.

Hi Justin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
EGA Construction LLC is built on a foundation of service, craftsmanship, and family. The company itself was founded in 2010, but in many ways its roots go back to 1991, when my father, Kevin Fumic, served in the United States Marine Corps. After completing his service, he transitioned into a career in carpentry, carrying with him the discipline, precision, and work ethic that defined his time in the military. Over the years he built a strong reputation for quality work and integrity, and in 2010 he started EGA Construction LLC, naming it after the Marine Corps emblem the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor as a tribute to the values of honor, courage, and commitment that shaped his life.

Growing up around the trade, I developed an appreciation for craftsmanship and the satisfaction that comes from building something the right way. I eventually stepped into the business myself, learning the work from the ground up and gaining experience in flooring installation and residential construction. In 2024 I took over leadership of the company, continuing the family legacy while focusing on growing the business and expanding the services we offer.

Today EGA Construction LLC continues to serve homeowners and contractors across Northeast Ohio with the same principles it was founded on honest work, high-quality installations, and a team-first attitude. My goal is to build on the foundation my father created while continuing to improve and grow the company for the future.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small businesses, there have been periods of uncertainty, especially when it comes to balancing the demands of the work itself with the responsibilities of running and growing the business. One of the biggest challenges has been learning the business side of the trade. Doing the work well is only part of it, you also have to manage estimates, scheduling, customer communication, and long-term planning. Taking over leadership of a family business also comes with the responsibility of honoring the foundation that was built before you while figuring out how to continue growing it.

Another challenge has simply been the ups and downs that come with working in the trades. Some seasons are extremely busy, while others require patience and persistence while you build relationships and continue putting yourself out there. At the same time, those challenges have been valuable learning experiences. They’ve pushed me to become more disciplined, more adaptable, and more focused on building something that lasts. Ultimately, those experiences have helped shape the direction I want to take the company moving forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about EGA Construction LLC?
EGA Construction LLC is a Northeast Ohio-based company specializing in flooring installation and residential interior work, including luxury vinyl plank, hardwood flooring, tile, and finish trim. Our focus is on craftsmanship and proper preparation, because the quality of a finished floor depends just as much on the work beneath it as the material itself. As the second generation leading the business, my goal is to build on that legacy while continuing to grow and adapt to the needs of homeowners and contractors across Northeast Ohio. What I’m most proud of is that the company has grown largely through word of mouth and repeat customers, which reflects the trust people place in our work.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success is measured by the quality of the work we do. If customers trust us with their homes, recommend us to others, and feel confident that the job was done the right way, that’s a strong measure of success.
