Exploring Life & Business with Julie Pfister of Glow Custom Spray Tanning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Pfister.

Hi Julie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Glow was the brainchild of my sister-in-law Danielle Foster. She was instrumental in getting this business started.
We were sitting around one night sharing a bottle of wine just discussing life and dreams. At the time I had been a stay at home mom with my 3 young children and momma was ready to have some more adult interactions. Dani has a mind for business and was always trying to convince me that we should start our own small business. She was always throwing out crazy ideas, but for some reason, the idea of a sunless spray tanning business stuck. I mean, who doesn’t feel better when they’re tan?!? It also seemed fitting because at the time my husband and sister-in-law‘s grandmother was in a battle with skin cancer. Dani and I both love a good tan and spray tanning is a much safer alternative to UV tanning.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been blessed and lucky as a small business owner. I went into this business with realistic expectations and knowing that the business will be what I made of it. I have not had many struggles. I have a wonderful support system in my husband that provides financially for our family which allows me to work as much or as little as I need to to ensure that our family is always put first. With two teenagers and one preteen, my life can get hectic.

We’ve been impressed with Glow Custom Spray Tanning, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Glow Custom Spray Tanning has been in business since 2015. I’m a certified spray tan tech with an active “tanning salon” license in the state of Ohio. My studio is located inside of my friend’s nail salon, Mai Thi Beauty, I have shared space with Mai Thi since 2021. I am part of a great group of independent artist sharing a common space that is welcoming to all. I pride myself in using top of the line solutions and taking my time to apply a flawless sunless tan. I’m happy to set myself apart by aiming to go above and beyond in all my customer service and my beautiful tans. I truly care about my clients.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Of course, the best way to support me is to come get a spray. You can schedule those via text or call at 419-303-4990. But if you don’t personally need a spray tan then client and personal referrals are amazing. It means so much to me when a client trusts me and values me enough to send their friends and family to me.
