Exploring Life & Business with Je’Rica Sanders of The Blueprint of Style and Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Je’Rica Sanders.

Hi Je’Rica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into interior design started with a love for creating beautiful, functional spaces. Even as a child, I was constantly rearranging my bedroom creating a different aura for how I was feeling at that time. I always loved maximizing my space. But it wasn’t until I got my own place with the financial freedom to make my apartment what I wanted that I realized this could be more than just a passion – it could be a career.

I started small, taking on side projects while building my knowledge and confidence. I would often work on renter friendly builds then eventually I took on bigger projects. I focused on developing a signature style – comfortable, elevated and budget-friendly – while still making each space feel unique to the person living in it.

Launching my own design business is both exciting and challenging. I am learning how to balance the creative side with the business side – client relationships, budgeting, timelines, and marketing myself authentically.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I am learning so much through the process. One of the biggest challenges continues to be building credibility in an industry where I didn’t have formal training or corporate experience. I didn’t go to school for interior design but had a passion for it since high school. With that, I had to teach myself everything—from design principles and space planning to client communication and business management.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Blueprint is all about “Empowering spaces with timeless elegance.” Recognizing that the look and feel of a home directly influences one’s mood, productivity, and overall well-being, we seamlessly blend innovation with affordability. Through fresh concepts, meticulous attention to detail, and personalized craftsmanship, we curate budget-conscious spaces that still feel luxurious.

What truly sets us apart is our ability to create elevated designs without the elevated price tag. We believe that great design shouldn’t be reserved for the few — and that style and comfort can absolutely coexist with practicality and real-life budgets.

We’re most proud of the trust our clients place in us — not just to transform their homes, but to interpret their vision, lifestyle, and story into every room we design. Our brand is rooted in authenticity, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to making thoughtful, beautiful design accessible.

Whether it’s a full-home revamp, a single-room transformation, or virtual styling support, The Blueprint is here to bring intentional, elegant design to everyday living — one space at a time.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I’d say the quality that’s been most important to my success is being goal-oriented with a strong attention to detail. I’m very focused when it comes to getting things done, and I always work with the end result in mind — not just a pretty space, but one that fits my client’s lifestyle, needs, and budget. I really listen to what the client wants, and I take pride in being able to bring their vision to life, even when they’re not sure how to get there.

And honestly, I love saving a dollar or two! I’ve always had a talent for making things look high-end without the high price tag. Whether that’s finding the perfect dupe, upcycling something with potential, or just knowing where to invest and where to cut back. I’m all about delivering big impact without overspending. That mindset, paired with my drive and eye for detail, has helped me grow my business and keep my clients happy.”
