Exploring Life & Business with Gennifer Hurtt of Collectv Studio Pilates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gennifer Hurtt.

Hi Gennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I actually found Pilates during a time when I was juggling a lot—work, life, all the things—and I needed something that helped me feel grounded again. Once I started practicing regularly, I realized it wasn’t just helping my body—it was helping my mindset, my energy, even how I showed up in the world.

Eventually, that personal practice turned into something more and I wanted to share with others. I got certified, started teaching, and little by little, built a community of people who wanted that same feeling of strength and calm in the middle of a busy life.

Now, I teach Pilates with real life in mind. My goal is to help people feel better in their bodies, move with more ease, and make space for themselves—even when things get hectic. Whether I’m teaching early in the morning or posting content online, I just want people to feel like they have a place to breathe, reset, and reconnect with their minds and bodies through intentional movement.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road, rewarding however—but I think that’s what’s made it meaningful. Balancing building my Pilates business (from scratch) with everything else in life has had its challenges. There were moments of self-doubt, burnout, and wondering if I was doing enough—or doing it ‘right.’ Starting early mornings, teaching when I was tired, figuring out how to grow while still staying grounded… it’s been a lot of trial and error.

One of the biggest struggles has been giving myself permission to slow down when needed and trust the pace of my own path. I had to learn that consistency doesn’t always mean perfection—it just means showing up, even if it’s not always pretty. And honestly, that lesson has shaped how I encourage my clients too.

As you know, we’re big fans of Collectv Studio Pilates. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is rooted in helping people feel strong, supported, and more at home in their bodies—without adding more stress to their already full lives. I teach Pilates in a way that’s realistic, energizing, and designed to meet people where they are.

I offer a range of services including private sessions, small group classes (both in-person and virtual), custom wellness challenges, and my Sunday Pilates Club—an intentional weekly class that helps clients reset, reflect, and realign for the week ahead. It’s one of my favorite offerings because it’s not just about movement—it’s about gathering with others with our drink of the day and positively energizing our minds for the week ahead.

What I’m most known for is the vibe I bring to my sessions: calm but motivating, structured but never rigid. Whether it’s a 6AM class or a casual check-in via video, text, or phone call, I create space for people to reconnect with their bodies and reset their energy. I specialize in alignment, core strength, and functional movement—helping clients move better, feel better, and show up stronger in their lives.

I’ve also (recently) started to create content like my YouTube vlog series, ‘My Lowkey Hectic Life,’ where I share how I navigate movement, work, wellness, and everything in between. The goal is to show that taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be extreme or overwhelming—it can be intentional, simple, and even joyful.

What sets my brand apart is that it’s truly built for real life, the energy and accessibility behind everything I offer. From the personal check-ins, to specializing in alignment, core strength, and functional movement, while also bringing a calming, motivating presence to each session. My clients often tell me they feel both challenged and cared for—and that means everything to me.

I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients and community. Whether you’re starting fresh or coming back to yourself, I want everything I offer to feel like a place you can land, breathe, and grow. That’s the heart of my work—and my brand.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is alignment—internally and externally. That means living in a way that feels true to who I am, and helping others do the same. Whether it’s through movement, mindset, or just how I show up day to day, I want my life and my work to feel honest, intentional, and connected.

I’ve learned that when you’re in alignment—when your body feels good, your mind is clear, and your spirit feels settled—you move through life differently. You’re more present, more confident, and more open to joy. That’s why I do what I do. Helping others feel that sense of connection in their own bodies and lives is what drives me.
