Today we’d like to introduce you to Flor de Maria McNally
Hi Flor de Maria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Cincinnati from the East Coast seeking more opportunity and affordability. I was on a pre-vet track back home with a degree in Biology and Philosophy from University of Maryland. However, in Cincinnati, I was required to do additional schooling for the position I already held in MD for 8 years as a veterinary technician. Based on this, I decided to keep working in the hospitality industry until I figured out another plan. I loved working in the service industry because I created an experience for people and they would always come back. My husband, boyfriend at the time, encouraged me to seek out a career in real estate based on this passion. I looked into it and it sounded interesting. I took the necessary courses and started on the path at Keller Williams. Keller Williams truly puts the Realtor in the center of everything it teaches. I was taught to build a business worth having and following systems and models, I’ve been able to become one of 14 top Realtors out of 6,800 Realtors in the area. My main focus & passion is helping the Latino community get educated on wealth acquisition and becoming financially free to be present with family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I believe as a mother in a demanding career, there is always a guilt factor that has a chokehold on your mental wellbeing. You want to be the best mother to your children and also as a high achiever, reach your true potential and sometimes that seems impossible. There is a constant counter balancing that is needed but it’s not easy. Hiring is also one of the top challenges I’ve faced as a business owner. You find top talent and they leave, or you are faced with a slim pool of candidates and are drowning in a sea of tasks. It’s always a roller coaster when it comes to hiring!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We love our people from the moment they enter our lives and long after closing. For our team, it goes further than real estate, our focus is around building strong relationships in our community and guiding people toward excellent financial decisions. Our mission is to create a memorable real estate experience by always focusing on the client’s needs and goals, ensuring a smooth transaction with phenomenal vendors, guidance before, during and after the transaction, and helping our clients build wealth through real estate.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A surprising fact about my business is that I don’t have other producing Realtors on my team. I am a solo agent team with incredible administrative support that allows me to do 150 transactions a year as compared to the national average of 6 transactions annually per solo Realtor.
