My story began with a deep love for fashion and transformation, but the true inspiration came from my daughter.
When she was little, we used to play dress-up together — I didn’t even know what the word boutique truly meant back then. What I did know was the feeling: the joy of creating something beautiful, of seeing someone light up when they feel confident and seen.
That simple game became the seed of Barbie’s Boutique in Sarasota — a place built from love, family, and the belief that every woman deserves to feel celebrated.
From that moment, my purpose became clear: to help people discover what truly makes them feel beautiful, confident, and radiant. At Barbie’s Boutique, it’s not just about finding a dress; it’s about creating an experience of self-love, empowerment, and joy. My goal has always been to make every person who walks through our doors feel seen, valued, and transformed — because when you feel good, you shine from the inside out.
To every woman starting her own business: don’t wait until you know everything. Start with what you love, nurture it with passion, and let it grow. Sometimes, the most beautiful dreams are born from the simplest moments.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t been easy.
I didn’t study fashion or business formally — everything I’ve learned has come through experience, perseverance, and passion. Every challenge became a lesson. I took classes, studied marketing and business, and discovered through experience what it truly means to lead with purpose and heart.
English is not my first language, so every class, every course, and every business step has been a process of learning, adapting, and believing in myself.
One of my biggest challenges has also become one of my greatest strengths: my passion and love for perfection. I pour my heart into every detail — from how each client feels in the fitting room to how the store looks every morning. I often start my days at 5:00 a.m. to make time for my family and ensure nothing is left behind.
Balancing motherhood, business, and creativity hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me discipline, faith, and resilience. Every obstacle has shaped me into a stronger woman, entrepreneur, and mother.
I’ve learned that perfection isn’t about control — it’s about love, purpose, and giving your best every single day.

Barbie’s Boutique LLC is more than a dress store — it’s a place where fashion meets purpose. We specialize in creating unforgettable experiences through our collections for quinceañeras, brides, and formalwear. Each of our clients receives personalized styling and emotional support to find the dress that makes them feel confident, radiant, and truly themselves.
Our boutique has grown into two unique spaces:
👰 Bridal by Barbie’s Boutique, an exclusive bridal showroom featuring designer gowns and accessories for modern, elegant brides.
👑 Barbie’s Boutique 15, a destination for quinceañeras and their families that includes Quince Academy, a creative program that helps young girls prepare for their big day with confidence, elegance, and self-expression.
👗Alarcón Designs — my own fashion label, born from the dream of creating pieces that tell stories. I had the opportunity to showcase my designs in New York, an experience that opened a new chapter in my career and reminded me how far passion and perseverance can take you. I’m still learning, growing, and evolving — but now with the confidence of knowing that dreams built with heart can become reality.
What sets us apart is our mission — “We Dress Moments.” We don’t just sell dresses; we create memories. From the fitting room to the final photo, every detail is guided by love, artistry, and purpose. My proudest achievement is seeing the smile and transformation of each client who walks through our doors, knowing that we were part of a milestone in her life.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out is simple: don’t give up. The road won’t always be easy, but every small decision you make can completely transform your life. Be patient with yourself, trust your vision, and enjoy every moment of the process — even the difficult ones — because they are shaping the person and the business you are meant to become.
Be grateful for every lesson, big or small, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. My family has been my biggest support and the reason I keep going every day. Remember that passion and consistency will take you further than perfection ever could. Believe in your dream, and the rest will follow.
