My story really started with logo design. I was helping businesses create a visual identity, and over time, those same clients started asking if I could help with websites. That opened the door to a much bigger understanding of what business owners actually need. They do not just need a logo or a website. They need a complete system that helps them look professional, attract attention, generate leads, and grow.
From there, I kept expanding. Websites led to SEO, SEO led to content, and content led to advertising, automation, lead generation, and a full-scale marketing strategy. What started as design work slowly evolved into Black Tie Marketing Group, a full-service digital marketing agency built to help small and medium-sized businesses compete at a higher level.
Today, I focus on helping companies turn scattered marketing efforts into clear growth systems. The journey has involved a lot of learning, adapting, and building, but the mission has stayed the same: help business owners show up better, grow smarter, and create something sustainable.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road, but I think that is part of what makes the story meaningful.
Like a lot of business owners, I had to learn through experience. I started with design, but as clients began asking for more, I had to grow beyond just being creative. I had to learn websites, SEO, advertising, strategy, sales, client communication, project management, and how to build real systems that actually help businesses grow.
One of the biggest struggles was figuring out how to move from being someone who offered individual services to building a true agency with a bigger vision. There were times when I had to wear every hat, make mistakes, adjust quickly, and keep going even when things were not perfect.
Another challenge has been keeping up with how fast marketing changes. What worked a few years ago does not always work today, so I have had to stay flexible, keep learning, and continue improving the way I serve clients.
Overall, the road has had plenty of challenges, but those struggles helped shape Black Tie Marketing Group into what it is today. They taught me how to solve problems, think bigger, and build a company focused on long-term growth instead of quick wins.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about Greater Cincinnati is the balance. It has the energy and opportunity of a larger city, but still feels connected and community-driven. There are strong neighborhoods, hardworking small business owners, great local organizations, and a real sense of pride in the people who live here.
I also appreciate how much potential the area has. Greater Cincinnati has a strong business community, a growing creative scene, great nonprofit work, and people who genuinely want to see the region improve. There is a lot of talent here, and I think the city gives people room to build something meaningful.
What I like least is that sometimes the area can be slower to embrace change or support new ideas. There are many great businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders doing important work, but sometimes they do not get the visibility, collaboration, or support they deserve.
Overall, I believe Greater Cincinnati is a place with strong roots and even stronger potential. It is not perfect, but that is also what makes it worth investing in. There is still a lot of room to grow, connect, and create more opportunities for local businesses and the people who call this area home.
