Exploring Life & Business with Chinah Jackson of Mermaid Kissez Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chinah Jackson.

Hi Chinah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Well, my mother Dove inspired me (God rest her soul); growing up, she had boutiques, flashy accessories, and nice clothes, so watching her gave me all the push I needed to be a fashionista! I was always infatuated with make-up & jewelry, so I decided to start making my own. I wanted to do something for people everywhere to make them feel good from the inside out. My brand Mermaid Kissez was birthed officially in 2019. We offer all-natural, vegan, hand-blended glosses, trendy beauty trinkets & unique accessories

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
NonNot necessarily smooth. I lost my mother to Covid not long ago & I tell you what… it pulls on my heart daily, but I know she wants me to keep on keeping on, so I do! & funding a business straight out of pocket without zero handouts is hard work, but I’m not giving yo no time soon

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My brands mission is “Making sure your confidence stays POPPIN!” We aim to make sure people everywhere that buys our products feel special. I believe if you look good, you feel good. Self-care is necessary. I’m very proud that Mk cosmetics has not only divine products but excellent customer service. We can be found in a storefront called “The Entrepreneurs Shoppe” in Dayton, Ohio (S/O to Tae Winston) for such an amazing platform. You can also find us online www.Mermaidkissezllc.com

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about the city is that is so many talents here. I mean such amazing people with remarkable gifts are birthed here. What I like least… I would say the negative competition. Sometimes it seems to be a crab-in-a-barrel mentality. I’d like people to know that it’s enough room; it’s enough money for everyone to Win
