Exploring Life & Business with Caitlin & Gina Miller of Miller Flowers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin & Gina Miller. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are Gina & Caitlin Miller, two sisters who own Miller Flowers. We are a greenhouse & garden center in Greenville, Ohio. 

Our story begins 28 years ago when our parents founded Miller Flowers. They started out with a pig farm, ended up replacing it with a flower business. While pigs are cute, we are very thankful for their decision to switch to flowers! 

After taking ownership of the business in 2014, we added a florist, flower farm, and year-round workshops onto our seasonal business making it a full-time operation. 

This past year, we have started transitioning away from the full-service florist, making way for more of a focus on making our business a destination spot for gardeners and plant enthusiasts. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Expanding our customer base has not always been easy the twist and turns of Covid, weather (we are a weather-dependent business), crop failures, supply shortages. finding reliable team members and the economy has been challenging over the years. 

We’ve been impressed with Miller Flowers LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in locally sourced flowers for events & deliveries during the growing season. We offer a plant gift line for all occasions. 

During the spring season, we grow annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, hanging baskets, and shrubs for the home gardener. We sell mums & pumpkins in the fall. In the Christmas season, we design and sell wreaths, porch pots, and garlands. 

Flower education is one of our core values at Miller Flowers. We offer workshops and garden seminars year around for children & adults. We also travel & host workshops at corporate businesses all over Ohio. We create content for our social media & YouTube with tips & inspiration for all gardeners around the world. It is our desire to provide our customers & other gardeners with hands-on knowledge and inspiration to use in their home gardens. 

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We are looking forward to the fall & winter workshop season! We are so excited to host succulent pumpkin workshops, recycle porch pot workshops, wreath, kissing ball workshops, and more. We’d love to have you come and join us in Darke County for a fun evening out!
