Daily Inspiration: Meet Stacie Kearns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacie Kearns.

Hi Stacie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Stacie. I am a faith-filled artist, wife, and mother of three. I left my career as an elementary art teacher to follow a calling to use my talents to inspire others. By creating paintings and teaching art workshops, my mission became to spread Love, Joy, Hope, and healing through the power of art. I have found that art can give hope, inspire, and heal the human spirit. I am blessed to be able to create in my home studio in Cleves, Ohio (Just outside Cincinnati, Ohio). I have had the honor of working with some amazing groups of women, couples, and children. Teaching workshops on gratitude, breathing space, grief, and hope. I have worked with cancer groups, as well as from groups from churches, women’s homes, hospitals, hospice groups, schools, and even parents whose babies were in the NICU. Through this journey, God has brought some amazing people into my life who have helped develop and run my business. I feel so blessed to get to work with my sister, aunt, and dear friends each day! Two of my friends create my products out of their houses. With my beautiful friend Amy Rogers, I created Bright Spot Boxes. When we began to work together, Amy had been battling Cancer for 5 years. We wanted to offer people a way to bring light to those in their darkest days. These boxes are filled with Stacie Kearns Art products and designed for people of all ages who you want to celebrate, bring comfort, or need the inspiration to keep smiling and move forward. Amy passed away in August 2018 and it is my mission to continue to share her light. I have also partnered with another friend Katie Ryan to create Be the Light Boxes and products. A local store owner of Wild Birds Unlimited saw my painting of a cardinal and was interested in selling them. He introduced me to a company that could put my paintings on products such as mugs, tiles, canvas, and much more. Through this, I realized the impact I could make on a larger group. The platform Etsy has allowed me to sell my products to people in the US, Europe, and all over the world. Currently, I create all my own products in my home studio. I work with companies and organizations such as hospices, banks, The BDK Fund, Flower shops, and gift shops. I am excited about the future and creating more inspiring products to continue to spread love, joy, hope, and healing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Like with most new businesses, there have been bumps in the road and I have used each to learn. When I started my business, I had another company make my products. I wanted to begin to create my own products. There was a lot to learn from what process to use, printers to purchase, where to find products to sublimate on, and what press to use. It took lots of long hours of work, but it has all paid off and I currently create all my products in-house.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create paintings in several different ways. Paintings on canvas using plaster to create texture and painting with latex and acrylic. Watercolor paintings and paintings on the iPad using the app Procreate. The paintings I create are then put onto products such as mugs, tumblers, tiles, pouches, journals, and ornaments… What sets my art apart from others is I add words to my art to uplift, inspire, and encourage. I am most proud of the fact that I create products that help people support and show love to one another.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is knowing that I have made an impact. That someone is looking at my soul-filled art right now and it is making their day a little brighter. Someone is reading the heartfelt words on one of my mugs and they feel a little less alone. Someone is remembering the kindness of a friend because of one of my products. Someone is blessed by my painting and can find their courage and strength because of it.
