Daily Inspiration: Meet Nobles Darby IV

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nobles Darby IV.

Hi Nobles, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a former athlete turned faith-driven leader whose calling reaches the highest levels of professional sports and corporate spaces. While my childhood pursuit was the NFL, my path shifted to serving it—now impacting the NFL, NBA, and G League as Chaplain for the Cleveland Browns and Co-Chaplain for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Charge.

As a sought-after speaker, I’m blessed to deliver inspiring, purpose-centered messages that challenge leaders and teams to align passion with purpose. I’m a Cleveland native and former three-sport athlete, and deeply committed to empowering coaches, athletes, youth and leaders to walk boldly in God’s divine will.

I also serve as Metro Cleveland Director for the Fellowship of Christian athletes my passions for sports and ministry align.

I’m a proud husband to Hadassah and father to Nobles C. Darby V (“Cinco”).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Due to distractions, the wrong influences and a lack of focus, I got kicked out of college with. 1.06 gpa and lost my full scholarship and dream of playing football. Upon returning home, I battled depression and suicidal thoughts and a severe lack of identity.

Ultimately hitting what I perceived as “rock bottom” helped me solidify my foundation in my faith with Jesus Christ and led to the turn around that helped me achieve what I have to this point.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I serve as the Metro Cleveland Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes which is a global sports ministry organization that utilizes sports as a way to share the gospel

In addition in my role as chaplain to our professional sports teams I equip and empower our players on using their platform to reach others with their faith and make positive impact in the community
