Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Ferrell.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Akron, OH, in a middle-class 2-parent home until my parents divorced when I was 11. I acted out a little in my teen years; I always knew I was the different child out of 4 (2 older brothers, 1 under-sister).
I had a passion to be a star, I was just unsure what or how I would get there. I started to promote clubs at 17, passing out flyer in Akron and Cleveland. Then I started to go to different clubs to party and model.
I moved to NYC at the age of 25 and tried to make it in the industry as a blogger/correspondent on red carpets. I was living in a friend’s recording studio when I snuck into Industry parties and started to make connections. I met and interview countless of A-list celebrities like Diddy, Bill Clinton, and a lot of people in the music industry.
I started to write for a company called Divagals’s Daily, and then I was picked to be on a reality show call Exisle on WE TV. Not too long after that, I had gotten pregnant at 29, and my dad came to get me from Brooklyn to move back to Akron.
I had my first-born son 3 days after my 30th birthday. A couple months later, I started to attend Ohio Media School, where I met my seconds son’s father.
Graduating with a big belly, I had my son 2 weeks after. 6 months after having my son I joined a radio show call OOOWEE radio show with 3 other girls in 2019. I’ve been with the syndicated Ooowee radio show on and off until just recently in 2023. Once departing from them, I’ve then started my own podcast radio show called “Sipp with Nic.” I talk about all the celebrity stuff and have cool segments with my male co-host Fat Boi. We will soon have our own station on IHeart radio. My name is Nic ForReel because like a camera reel, I keep going and I won’t stop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being homeless in New York was a struggle, but u made it through. Being a beautiful girl, people in the industry would try to take advantage but I knew how to keep it professional. Having relationship is a bit difficult because it can cause insecurities in the people I date because of the lifestyle I’m in. Making my name ring bells was a struggle, but I made it through it all.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known for being Nic ForReel, and I love to talk on the radio and make the people around me feel good and learn from my mistakes and my triumph.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The most important characteristic is to believe in yourself, own the room, fake it until you make it, and walk with confidence.
