Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicholas DiGiuseppe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas DiGiuseppe.

Hi Nicholas, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors and have had a desire to work outside. In high school we got to choose a. career for a mentorship program and I chose landscape architecture. My first job at 15 was at a landscape business and nursery that was behind my house. I moved to Oregon where I met friends who were in the landscape architecture program there and we started working together. In 2012 I started Mountain Goat Landscape to support my family. I succeed in supporting my family with Mountain Goat for 12 years in Oregon. There was. a need for me to move back to Ohio and now I am here looking to continue my success with Mountain Goat Landscape in Ohio. I love creating functional landscapes that are aesthetically pleasing. The satisfaction in the craftsmanship and the happiness in my clients are the best results of the work I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been mostly a smooth road. Since starting Mountain Goat I have always had a constant flow of work. There was never a time when I didn’t know what the next project was going to be. I’ve satisfied all of my customers and have left great work behind me. The biggest struggle right now is getting reestablished in Ohio. I lived in Oregon for over 20 years and left Ohio when I was finished with my time in the military in my early 20’s.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love working with stone. Building patios, walls, planters, grill islands, columns and anything else with stone is delightful for me and interesting to look at for customers and others. I enjoy using other elements also to create an all encompassing landscape. Plants, wood, metal, water, etc when put together with the natural stone can really bring a delightful landscape to a property.

How do you think about luck?
I believe that everything that comes our way in life is a gift. We have the choice in how we respond to any circumstance. Move forward or get stuck in the mud, it’s up to us.
