Daily Inspiration: Meet Michael Flack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Flack.

Michael, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Michael, Owner of Flack Productions – Creative Video, LLC. I’ve been shooting wedding films for 10 years. I’ve been a professional videographer and filmmaker for even longer.

I attended Penn State University and received a BA in Film and Video Production. Shortly after graduating, I moved out west to Hollywood, California. Out there I gained invaluable experience, working on large-scale and smaller independent productions. I even worked on a major motion picture that was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar (Seabiscuit, 2003).

Eventually, I moved back to Ohio and became completely enamored with wedding films. I worked for a couple of different photography studios as their wedding videographer, and in 2016, I knew I was ready to start my own studio. That’s when Flack Productions was born.

Since then, our studio has grown and shot over 200 weddings and counting.

We approach every single wedding shoot with the mentality, “This will be our best one yet!”

We keep the positive vibes going all day long on the wedding day, and we like to have fun with our couples and wedding parties, all while capturing each special moment so that they can be relived over and over again.

Wedding videography is SO IMPORTANT. It’s known as the BIGGEST REGRET for couples after their wedding day.

Flack Productions would truly be honored to be your videographer! Entrusting us to capture your most special day is a decision you WILL NOT regret!

In addition to weddings, we have lots of experience shooting and producing other types of video projects. We do corporate work, small business and non-profit promos, documentaries, commercials, and any type of live event imaginable.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey to success has not been easy AT ALL. There have been (and still are) lots of late nights and very early mornings. There has been rejection, broken promises, and broken contracts, COVID-19, financial burdens, and burn-0ut. The key has been to stay positive and (for the moments when staying positive doesn’t seem possible) to surround myself with positive people who encourage me and believe in me. The struggles aren’t over, and they never will be…such is life. We are ready!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our company is a full-service videography/film studio. This business insists on professionalism, fundamentals, creativity, solid communication skills, and impeccable customer service. When we get feedback (whether it’s in person or an online review), hearing how we’ve captured and preserved timeless memories or embodied a business’s story and purpose, there is nothing that makes us more proud.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
In the 4th grade, I was recruited to try out for (and then made) the club/select soccer team from a couple of towns over from mine. Then in 5th grade, our team won the State Championship. To this day, it has to be my favorite childhood memory.
