Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciano Ruscitto.
Hi Luciano, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Everyone’s entrepreneurial journey is different in some way or another, but mine is as untraditional as it gets. I am an educator turned entrepreneur. Currently, I work as a special education teacher at a school for individuals on the autism spectrum. I am also the Head Coach of the men’s soccer team at Bryant & Stratton College Ohio and the co-founder/majority owner of a professional indoor soccer team, the Cleveland Crunch.
The Cleveland Crunch previously existed from 1989-2001 and is considered by most to be one of the most prolific indoor soccer franchises of all time. I and a small team of people decided to pursue the Cleveland Crunch project in 2020 during the covid-19 pandemic.
Fast forward to 2022, we are 3 games into our 3rd season in operation with back-to-back finals appearances and one championship win on our resume. Embodying the definition of “doing too much” inadvertently by choice has created a wealth of opportunity for me as I have recently been selected as a contestant for season 8 of The Blox.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road by any means, however, I am grateful for my struggles as I view them as an opportunity to learn. When you cannot learn from losses, then you have truly lost.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a business owner, educator, and entrepreneur, I earned a master’s of education degree in 2017 from Kent State University and have 6 years of teaching experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
I am also the President/co-founder/owner of the Cleveland Crunch professional indoor soccer team and serve on the board of diversity, equity, and inclusion for Major League Indoor Soccer. I am a strong operator with a desire to succeed at all costs.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I am a firm believer that we all can create our luck. If you work hard and have the will to succeed, opportunities will come. Remain authentic and luck will find you.
