Daily Inspiration: Meet Lisa Morton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Morton.

Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was an Interior Designer for ten years and started my first business in Willoughby, Ohio. I loved it and the people I worked with but wanted to incorporate more of my love of nature. I decided to shift my focus, and I began studying Interior Alignment Feng Shui in 2014 and was certified as an Advanced Practitioner in 2018. I have also trained in Medicine Wheel Feng Shui, Color Psychology, Biophilic Design, and Space Clearings. I like to blend these practices in my work to help people balance the energy in their spaces and lives. I have clients in Ohio, Northern Indiana, and others throughout the country that I can work with virtually.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Because it’s a unique approach to design and potentially unfamiliar, I work hard to introduce these design concepts and ideas clearly to my clients. I explain the importance and benefits of each method we incorporate into their space so they have clear expectations and can better grasp the “why” behind these methods.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My signature in designs is always incorporating and balancing natural elements including the five-element system (water, fire, wood, earth, and metal) into a space. My clients love how I integrate these components into their designs to bring the outdoors in. They trust my background in interior design to make it look intentional and fit in with their lifestyle and aesthetic. I’m proud that I’ve been able to combine all of my passions and education into a service that helps others in this unique way.

Any big plans?
I plan to expand my online services to offer more courses and guides for people who prefer a DIY approach but want to learn how to incorporate Feng Shui principles into their spaces. I’ve also been testing a group program that coaches people on what to do in their day-to-day routines to bring more balance to their lives. I’m excited about the new opportunities to work with more people after shifting more of my business online.
