Daily Inspiration: Meet Jena Ianiro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jena Ianiro.

Hi jena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My family has been farming this land since 1919, and I am the fourth generation to produce maple syrup here. My grandfather stopped making syrup in the mid-1980s, but some of my most treasured childhood memories are of helping him during maple season.

In 2013, my husband and a friend decided to give syrup production another try. Seeing maple syrup boiling in the sugarhouse again was incredibly meaningful, and it marked the beginning of a new chapter for our farm.

Since then, we have continued to grow. Each spring we produce maple syrup, and in August we open our beautiful sunflower field to the public for a cut-your-own sunflower event featuring vendors, food trucks, and music.

My husband, our children, and I look forward to continuing this family tradition and sharing our farm with the community, creating smiles and lasting memories for everyone who visits for years to come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have really not faced many struggles along the way

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Our family and the farm make us happy. There is so much joy in taking care of the animals, seeing the sap drip out of the tree or watching the sunflowers turn their heads!
