Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Ramsey.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In about 2015 I wanted to apply to go to a culinary arts school but my loans weren’t paid off from a previous school. 5 years later covid happened and it had me thinking of professions that I could do anywhere in the world and thats not replaceable.( Also the movie Chef was a big inspiration)It brought me back to culinary. I was randomly scrolling one day and saw The Auguste Escoffier Culinary Arts School. It was only an online option and thought its now or never so I enrolled and started my journey. It was fun and from after graduation I started my catering company Activated Catering. Its been fun and we are looking to have a phenomenal year in 2026
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Its been somewhat challenging. The first party i did the power went out while cooking and I was late to a 90’s skate party. Good thing it was my buddy and he understood. Another time the stove didnt work at an Airbnb for one of my chefs at a party but luckily be still prevailed and got through it
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a catering company that does put any limitations on us. We cook anything instead of staying in one lane. Im most proud of that though we have had setbacks it doesn’t stop us from moving forward.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
STICK WITH IT. You will face challenges and have roadblocks but to be successful you must not stop it. I didnt know cooking could wear you out lol. I see why my mom use to be sometimes be tired after cooking.
