Today we’d like to introduce you to Wing Kwong
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Wing, also known as takowing.eats on Instagram. I do have a day job as an Agility Lead, and manage my foodie Instagram account on my spare time.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I followed my family and immigrate to the United States when I was 14 years old. Lived around South Bend, Indiana for a couple years. After I graduated college, I arrived to Columbus Ohio after finding a job here.
I would think my interest for food started when I growing up in Hong Kong. As you may know, Hong Kong is known as the “Food Paradise” and infused with such a diverse food scene. Particularly with all the hidden gem and street food finds.
As I moved to Columbus, I started taking photos when I eat out. At that point, it sparked my interest to document on the restaurant that I go. I started my account in 2015, but then went in for a hiatus state until 2022. Since then, I’m glad to be back on my foodie journey and sharing the food scene with the community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working with a day job and being a content creator can be challenging at time. I notice finding that right balance for myself is definitely challenging, especially at the beginning.
As I continue to build my foodie community and content, there is varies opportunity and offer for content. It is depending on myself on how to prioritize and managing my time to find the right balance.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As for my day job, I’m an Agility Lead. On the day to day, I work with Product Owner and Software engineer to coach them on the Agile Ways of Working. I’m proud when I can see teams becoming more efficient and can self manage among the team as an outcome of my coaching.
I had been woking with various team that are at different level of maturity. I’m able to continuously assessing what the team need and provide the corresponding coaching.
How do you think about happiness?
I would say food. One is of course it is my love and passion. But food also led me to the community and connection. Since I entered the foodie community, I met people that come from different background and in different part of their life journey. I learned so much by just connecting to others and listen on their experience and journey. I always believe sharing knowledge among people is the most powerful way to learn and grow.
