Conversations with Tamara Flora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Flora.

Hi Tamara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from Indiana University in 2007. I published my first novel, Remembering Mary Jane, shortly after.

I began working in pharmaceutical sales soon after graduating and found success in that industry, but my passion had always been writing. I went on to publish my second novel, At Your Darkest.

My success in the pharmaceutical industry has allowed me to pursue so many things that I had never thought possible. It has provided me the opportunity to travel with my family, make a second career in real estate investing, and give back to my community.

I am also currently working on my third novel, After Dark.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
After college, I moved away, got married and divorced. It was a very difficult situation and it took a long time to heal. I had to leave everything I knew, and start over with my daughter, Finley, who was less than a year old at the time. Starting over from scratch was one of the most difficult struggles I’ve ever had to overcome; finding a new home, new career, a new life in general for myself and my baby. However, I’m so thankful that my journey lead me to my husband Andrew, and the life we have made for our family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work as a specialty sales rep for a pharmaceutical company, specializing in neurology sales and continue to write as a hobby in my spare time.

I am most proud of my national sales awards, including three consecutive Circle of Excellence Awards: #1 Cardiometabolic Sales Rep in the Area in 2020, #1 Cardiometabolic Sales Rep in the Nation in 2020, and #1 Cardiometabolic Sales Rep in the Nation in 2021.

What sets me apart from others is my genuine love for my career, my positive attitude, and my relentlessness for making sure that I am always being an advocate for my doctors and patients.

What’s next?
I am planning to continue my career in pharmaceutical sales, publish a third novel, travel to Europe this summer, and build a new home with my husband next spring.
