Today we’d like to introduce you to Talia And Rainier Reyes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We first heard of SG yard signs in the spring of 2023. A friend of ours, in passing, mentioned that her colleague was moving out of Ohio and was looking to sell their business. We both started researching the company and found the franchise to be very interesting as we both were excited to get involved in our community through spreading joy! We contacted the seller and the rest is herstory…we shadowed to figure out how the business runs and we spoke with the CEOs of the franchise to learn more. Now, we are three years in and could not be more in love! Not only has it brought excitement to the communities we service but it has brought us closer to our children, who often join us in completing installations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When we first took over the business there was a steep learning curve. Actually, there continues to be a learning curve as we strive to offer our customers new, fresh designs. We started our first few months during the busy season–graduation. This was challenging as we were trying to recruit others to help us, learn how to invoice customers, develop our style for engaging with customer, understand marketing etc. We had to balance this with also learning the heart of our business–doing a great installation. Even though each graduation season has gotten better because we have learned how much inventory we need available and we have developed good relationships with other nearby SG owners, there still continues to be challenges. For example, we have learned how to hire which is an ongoing process and we worked hard to recruit an intern in college which was an exciting experience and cost efficient. We have grown and learned a lot over the last three years, and continue to seek out new skillsets so that we can continue providing great service to our customers.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
