Conversations with Shayna Boyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shayna Boyd. 

Shayna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in the foot care industry back in 2019 while working a full-time job. I never thought in a million years that I would be a licensed nail technician who specializes in foot care. Looking back, I remember hosting sleepovers and polishing everyone’s nails and toes. Doing this was therapeutic and a hobby for me. 

After completing my undergraduate degree of science in Rehabilitation at Wright State University in 2011, I immediately started in the workforce. In the year 2019, God put nails back in my heart after introducing me to this 12-step spiritual program. Initially, I thought I was too old to get a license doing nails, but after speaking to my cousin, she convinced me to follow my dream. After I graduated from nail school, I was soon connected with some great woman on Instagram who introduced me to the medical side of foot care. At first, I looked into the classes just to be more educated on foot care but soon fell in love with the industry. I quickly realized how vital proper foot care was for the client. I had the pleasure of being chosen as an extern for a local podiatrist’s office before I completed my online classes as a medical pedicurist. I also became a Certified Master Pedicurist and this allowed me to obtain more hands-on experience with problematic feet. 

I never envisioned myself as an entrepreneur of any business because I grew up in a family who works a 9 to 5 job. I’m very interested in pursuing Naturally Bare LLC as a full-time career. All of the experiences I’ve had has brought me to where I’m today. While I still enjoy what I get to do, I’m looking forward to more growth and expansion in the future. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, there were obstacles along the way, but I firmly believe in learning from challenging situations that have allowed me to grow. At times, it does get hard trying to balance work, education, and family, but I have a great support system that helps me navigate life by keeping me on track. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
My self-proclaimed name is Foot Fairy, and I am the proud owner of Naturally Bare LLC. My passion for delivering the BEST quality services and in a safe environment led me to complete MediNail Certified Advanced Nail Technologist, MediNail Certified Medical Nail Technician, Toenail Restoration Specialist, and NASP Certified Master Pedicurist. My business provides high-quality preventive pedicure services to diabetic clients and elders suffering from specific foot issues such as thickened toes nails, neuropathy, and poor circulation. I pride myself on being results-driven, certified, and highly trained. My business maximizes results by keeping you relaxed, refreshed, and 100% satisfied. My number one goal is to nurture your feet back to a healthy state. 

I am proud of my accomplishments and growth in the foot care industry. I am more than honored to be in a position where I can make an immediate difference in someone’s life by transforming their feet. What makes my business extraordinary is the fact I focus on feet only. 

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
My future plans are to teach other nail technician’s this type of pedicuring. I also would love to gain clients through referrals from medical professionals.
