Today we’d like to introduce you to Raivon Don’tez.
Hi Raivon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi, my name is Raivon Don’tez, and I am an alternative rap artist. I like to blend rap, metal, and rock all together into a perfect dysfunctional amalgamation. I started making music seriously in 2018. When I first started, it took me a while to truly find my sound and my confidence. It wasn’t until 2020 when I released my second Ep Titled Wanna Play Vol.2: The Reboot that I truly found my sound, my voice, and my confidence. With this release, I decided to rebrand myself as the King of The Moshpit (K.O.T.M). When I decided to rebrand, I also decided to state what it means to be the K.O.T.M which is being that dude, that chick, that outta the box person, and letting the world know that you just don’t give a damn. Because when I started making music, I knew I wanted to represent people that were like me, the people who were outta the box, people who could never fit in, and individuals who loved to be different. And with me being an Alternative Rap Artist in a trap Heavy city, I personally think that I embody that message by carving lane for myself by being myself in the process.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a hard journey full of bumps along the way. Especially with me being alternative and choosing to not go the easy route by being a regular rap artist. Many bookings wouldn’t know how book me or fit me into a show because of how different my sound is from other artists in my respective genre. But with that obstacle, I’ve earned many other opportunities/bookings because of how different I am and how authentic I am to my sound as well.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an alternative Rap Artist. I created and harnessed a sound that fits my personality by blending metal, punk rock, and hip-hop to create something that is recognizable as Raivon Don’tez’s sound. I’m mostly known for my performances, my bubbly/confident personality, and my fashion. The thing that sets me apart from most artists besides my music is the way I perform. I’m the type of performer that loves to give their audience an experience they would never forget. By storytelling with my face expressions, getting them involved with crowd interactions during songs, moshpits, headbanging the air, and jumping and stomping on stage. And I’m proud to say that every time someone meets me or hears of me, they always bring up my performances and how full energy they are.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I have two singles out right now.
Code Red and Misfits in the Moshpit.
I also have a visual mic performance video for Misfits in the Moshpit on YouTube that was shot by NTNK Productions, and it has reached 6.1k views.
And I have recently finished my third Ep Titled Wanna Play Vol.3: Let The Games Begin, which is a Punk rock meets Metal love child with a dash of hip hop sound for this project.
