Conversations with Loren Coontz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Loren Coontz.

Hi Loren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Ohio and always knew I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. That passion led me to pursue medicine and eventually become a Physician Assistant in the United States Navy. Since commissioning, I’ve had the opportunity to care for service members in a variety of settings, including sea duty, where I continue to learn the importance of leadership, resilience, and staying calm under pressure.

Beyond my career in medicine, I’ve developed a passion for personal growth, fitness, and helping others pursue ambitious goals. Over the past several years, I’ve built a social media platform where I share my experiences as a military medical officer, along with insights on discipline, confidence, health, and navigating an unconventional career path.

Today, I continue to serve as a Navy Physician Assistant while also exploring opportunities outside of the military. My goal is to inspire others—especially women—to build lives they are proud of by embracing discipline, taking calculated risks, and believing they are capable of more than they think. Every chapter of my journey has reinforced the same lesson: meaningful growth happens when you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone and pursue a vision bigger than yourself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not exactly. Serving in the military has taught me how to navigate constant change. Whether it was moving across the country, spending extended periods away from family, or adjusting to new roles and responsibilities, I’ve learned how to stay resilient and keep moving forward even when circumstances were uncertain or did not turn out the way I originally expected.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Professionally, I serve as a Physician Assistant in the United States Navy, where I have the privilege of caring for service members and helping them stay healthy, resilient, and mission ready. While medicine is my primary career, I’ve also built a creative platform online where I share insights into military life, fitness, personal development, and the realities of balancing an ambitious career with personal growth.

What I’m most proud of is creating a community that extends beyond my day job. Through content creation, I’ve been able to connect with people from all walks of life and encourage them to pursue goals that may feel intimidating or out of reach. Whether it’s discussing discipline, confidence, health, or career development, my goal is always to provide value and inspire action.

I think what sets me apart is the combination of experiences I bring to the table. My background in medicine and military service has taught me leadership, resilience, and accountability, while content creation has allowed me to communicate those lessons in a way that reaches a broader audience. I enjoy bridging those worlds and showing that professional success, personal growth, and creativity don’t have to exist separately.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe we’re living through one of the most significant shifts in communication and education that we’ve ever seen. While healthcare will continue to evolve through technology, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence, I also believe social media is becoming one of the fastest-growing areas of opportunity, learning, and influence.

Looking ahead, I believe the biggest opportunities will belong to those who can combine expertise with communication. Whether you’re a healthcare professional, entrepreneur, educator, or creator, the ability to share knowledge, build trust and create value online will become increasingly important. Social media is no longer just entertainment. It’s one of the most powerful tools for education, networking, and opportunity creation in the modern world. I am super excited to continue being part of this rapidly evolving space.
