Conversations with Kristofer Calhoun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristofer Calhoun.  

Hi Kristofer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I began researching metaphysics, spell work, and earth-based religion at the age of 9 alongside, my cousin. 

At the time I was attending church with my mother. I was baptized at this church, and some of my best friends of that period in my life were from church. I attended the Christian camp sessions held in the summer and even took travel trips with the rest of the other young disciples to help create a positive change in our world. 

It was also at this time I started to realize my third eye opening up to all the ancient metaphysical truths of the world as well. I began to seek solace among side the elements, out in the forest, and within spaces I could make sacred; circles which are a space connecting and blessing an area with the powers of the source. 

I was always a little different from the other kids at my school. I would carry around my big black book, or my book is shadowed; which contained various spell work, herbal associates, symbols of deities, and a bunch of other esoteric information. While they used their study periods to get homework done; I was obsessed with finding/creating new spells, memorizing the cards of the Tarot, and familiarizing myself with the influences of the planets and other celestial bodies. 

Divine Alignment was created about a year ago now. After being in a few different covens and groups, I wanted to step into this world with the goal of helping others who were in my same boat: those who hear the whispers of the wind, see the invisible energies of the earth, and know that a higher power exists outside of modern traditional religions. I want to be there to provide them with the wisdom and teachings it’s taken me 11 years to collect and just now transfer into a resource anyone Al can access. Whether it is a lesson on crystal properties or if I’m selling them an Alignment Candle to help manifest new energy in their journey; I can be happy to know that I’m spreading the wisdom that is meant for us all to use to help enlighten this era of human beliefs. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating your own business and being an entrepreneur is not easy! Now trying to involve the matters of spirituality or witchcraft and then you can find yourself running into a brick wall. 

Business as of now has been a little slower than I’d want but I keep my head turned towards the reassuring reality that we still have tons of work to complete for Divine Alignment: ultimately ending with a physical shop being established to serve as a focal point. 

One thing I would definitely say for those looking to be an entrepreneur is to be prepared to hear “no.” It’s normal for people, even family, and friends, to disregard your efforts or dreams and all you can do is keep going! It takes that one person to say yes and promote your business but you just have to find them! 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Divine Alignment is being created to aid those with or without an established spiritual practice. We offer a surplus of different tools, resources, and teachings that will help individuals manifest a life they wish to see in this physical space. We will also be offering free spiritual wisdom under the “Esoteric Files” tab on our website. Here you will learn about fundamental spiritual ideology as well as have the resources to study more advanced principles and traditions. I’m very excited about many of the items we offer to our community such as Organic Herbal Alignment Joints, Alignment Candles, and our growing collection of various Crystals we sell! 

My practice would be defined as an eclectic ominist approach, which simply means I create the rules and principles as I go and grow, along with the utilization and acknowledgment of other deities and celestial influences from various traditions. Kinda like a spiritual mosaic specific to me and those who wish to follow my teachings. 

I’m most proud of how far the webpage has come. I am doing this alone so it can get to be a little stressful at times, and there are still tons to be done but this process has been very informative and eye-opening regarding the ins and outs of website development. 

I think what makes me different is that I am biracial, my mother whose family has a rich history in metaphysics allowed my first steps within this world to be allowed; and my father who is African American exposed me to the ideology of manifestation and the ability to create this world in a direct personal method. 

I also am only 20 so I definitely know there is more to learn; however, I also think that this is perfect because I could be a resource for those without teachers at a young age and I can also help those older than me learn the fundamentals and some advanced Ideas as well! I want to also create a spiritual community census that will be found under the “Discover another spiritualist near you” tab. This will simply act as a place people can turn to find resources outside of what I know or those here at Divine Alignment because the beautiful thing that we acknowledge within the earth-based religious practice is that no one way works for everyone, so we want to make a resource where you can connect with more sources of light! 

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me can be defined as helping 5-10 families or individuals a day pursue their esoteric ambitions. Whether that be making a sell, providing the teachings they may be looking for, or creating a safe place within a coven. Success for me would be just knowing that I’m helping the truth spread in today’s political world and also lifting up others with this platform!
