Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinette Phillips

Hi Antoinette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our journey started with wanting to make candy for cancer patients and individuals with pain or sleeping problems. My mom was diagnosed with Graves disease and I saw how much pain she was in. I wanted to help her, so I began making hard candy edibles for her pain and insomnia. Secondly, I noticed that gummy edibles had a bitter taste and a texture that alot of people didn’t like.
Lastly, we have come along way by experimenting, not giving up and receiving feedback in order to get to the desired recipe that is effective, efficient, and tasty.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road NO not at all. Our first obstacle was to figure out the right temperature to make the candy hard. Then, we had to figure out the right recipe so that the candy would taste good. So, in order to do this we had to let people try it for free. Many times our candy was made too sticky or too hard. too bitter or too sweet. The first year of making hard candy edibles was the hardest. After we figured out the recipe the next step was packaging and marketing. We made cards. We showcased our candy online. We made content videos.. We are still learning as we go and refuse to give up on our goal to get our candy in dispensaries all over the country.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am not only a business owner but I am an efda, ( expanded function dental auxiliary) , which means I fill teeth. I am most proud of being a Case Western Dental School graduated. I also, took business management and accounting at CSU. I love what I do as an efda. I help people get their smiles back. Just like I love making candy that makes people smile.
The thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m not in the edible candy business just for money,
I’m doing this to help others. I want to bring joy and smiles to those who are experiencing difficulties in life.

What makes you happy?
I’m happy when other people are happy around me. I’ve always been this way. I am a giver and a helper. It’s just my personality and how I was raised.
