Community Highlights: Meet Sara Donnelly of Vivid Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Donnelly.

Hi Sara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got into the chiropractic field with a desire to help people who are struggling. I believe emphatically in the body’s innate ability to heal and i see health through a holistic lens. Chiropractic philosophy aligns well with a holistic mindset. I worked for six years in larger, high volume clinics and had the opportunity to treat an incredibly diverse population of patients. I learned many additional adjusting techniques and clinical pearls while working alongside several other seasoned chiropractors. Ultimately, my desire was to create my own practice in which I had the time and space to really connect with each patient and function as the best version of myself professionally. I opened Vivid on February 1st, 2024 and haven’t ever looked back.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey of building my practice has been a learning curve. From the very beginning, I’ve done everything myself. I wanted to thoroughly understand all of the administrative processes and behind the scenes work that had mostly been outsourced in my previous clinical experiences. I’ve learned to network well and to ask for guidance when I feel things aren’t running optimally. While I can’t say I’ve enjoyed every step of building this business, I have definitely found value in each one. Overall, Vivid’s growth has been strong and steady. I look forward to years ahead!

As you know, we’re big fans of Vivid Chiropractic . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Vivid Chiropractic is a family practice with patient-centered care. Vivid has a special focus on the most vulnerable populations-pregnant women, infants, children, and geriatric patients. I see many patients who, unfortunately, have had negative experiences with other chiropractors or general health care professionals. Patients that have complicated medical issues, anxieties about treatment, or have previously undergone spinal surgeries often end up in my office. I attribute this to my gentle, thorough approach. Chiropractic care is for everyone; it’s the job of the physician to adapt their treatment style to fit the needs of each patient. To date, the youngest patient to be seen in the office has been 24 hours old. The eldest patient is 96 years young and still going strong! Educating patients, potential patients, families, and communities is an important part of Vivid’s mission. Chiropractic care is incredible and allows the body to heal from so much more than just lower back pain-although this is no small matter! The positive effects on the immune system, stress levels, sleep habits, mood regulation, digestion, mobility, childbirth, etc are innumerable. I witness miracles in my practice daily and truly love what I do. There is never a rush with appointments as helping patients heal is the sole reason for the practice. Vivid is committed to providing a safe, comfortable, space where patients can receive gentle, truly individualized chiropractic care.

What matters most to you?
Patients matter. Chiropractors have a tremendous responsibility to practice with integrity. There aren’t many other professions in which you are putting hands on people as the primary means of helping them to heal. But there is immense power in that. Chiropractic adjustments feel personal and can feel vulnerable because they are. In order to really understand what a patient needs, your hands need to obtain information for your nervous system to decode before you can deliver the correct adjustment. Patients need to trust their provider. The patient’s nervous system, the very thing we are trying to affect, will pick up on the doctor’s mental and emotional state. The body is intelligent and complex. Intention matters. I see every adjustment as an opportunity to give of myself for the good of someone else. I am using my own knowledge and talents to facilitate a positive change in someone else’s health. It’s difficult to be in pain. It’s exhausting to suffer with symptoms. It’s vulnerable to show a provider the extent of your struggles. I consider it a great privilege that patients come to me with all of this and that they trust in my work and my profession.
