Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Adamski.
Hi Michael, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My passion for cars began at a young age thanks to my dad. Growing up, Saturdays were often spent attending local car shows and watching drag racing at Quaker City Motorsports Park. Those experiences introduced me to the automotive community and sparked a lifelong appreciation for classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and motorsports. More importantly, they showed me how cars bring people together.
In 2013, I founded Mahoning Valley Car Cruises with the goal of creating a central hub where enthusiasts could find local cruise-ins, car shows, and automotive events throughout Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. What started as a small Facebook page with only about 150 likes gradually grew into one of the region’s leading automotive event promotion networks.
Today, Mahoning Valley Car Cruises has more than 11,000 followers nationwide on Facebook and a growing presence across multiple social media platforms, reaching millions of automotive enthusiasts each year. What began as a hobby has evolved into a brand dedicated to promoting and preserving car culture while supporting local businesses and community organizations.
In 2021, I took over the Sunday Night Cruise at Quaker Steak & Lube in Austintown, which has become the Youngstown area’s largest weekly cruise night and regularly attracts hundreds of vehicles throughout the season. In 2022 and 2023, I organized the Relay for Life Car Show at Southern Park Mall, attracting more than 500 vehicles each year while helping support an important cause. In 2025, I partnered with UAW Local 1112 to launch the UAW Lordstown Super Show, which brought together more than 200 vehicles from across the region.
Looking ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be our biggest season yet. We launched Cars & Coffee at Steel Valley Brew Works twice a month, creating an event focused on exotics, imports, tuners, and the next generation of automotive enthusiasts. We also continue to host two weekly events—the Rusty Mug Cruise Night on Thursday evenings and the Sunday Night Cruise at Quaker Steak & Lube Austintown.
Our biggest event of the year will be the Austintown Super Show on July 19, 2026, at Austintown Township Park. The event will feature hundreds of vehicles, food trucks, vendors, live entertainment, awards, and family-friendly activities as we continue to grow one of the area’s premier automotive events.
Looking back, I’m proud of how far Mahoning Valley Car Cruises has come—from a Facebook page with 150 followers to a recognized automotive brand reaching enthusiasts across the country. But what means the most to me is the community we’ve built and the friendships that have been formed along the way. That’s what continues to drive me every day and inspires me to keep growing the hobby for future generations.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. While there have been challenges along the way, there have also been countless rewards and life lessons that have shaped who I am today.
The most difficult challenge I faced was losing my dad in 2019. He was the person who introduced me to the automotive hobby by taking me to local car shows and Quaker City Motorsports Park when I was growing up. Some of my best childhood memories were spent with him around cars. Losing him was incredibly difficult, but it also reminded me why this hobby means so much to me.
One lesson I’ve learned over the years is that the people you meet in life can change your life forever. Through the car hobby, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from all walks of life. Many of those friendships have lasted for years, and some of those people have become like family to me. The cars may bring us together, but it’s the relationships, memories, and shared experiences that keep us coming back.
There have certainly been obstacles along the way. Building Mahoning Valley Car Cruises took years of hard work, consistency, and dedication. Not every event goes as planned, weather can be unpredictable, and there are always challenges behind the scenes that most people never see. But every setback has taught me something valuable and helped me grow both personally and professionally.
When I look back, I don’t just see the growth of a Facebook page or the success of an event. I see the friendships that have been formed, the memories that have been created, and the incredible people who have supported me throughout the journey. Those relationships are what I’m most grateful for, and they’re a big part of what continues to inspire me to keep growing Mahoning Valley Car Cruises and giving back to the automotive community that has given so much to me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Mahoning Valley Car Cruises is a media, marketing, and event promotion company dedicated to supporting the automotive community throughout Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. We serve as a connection point between car enthusiasts, businesses, event organizers, charities, and communities.
One of the things we’re best known for is our event coverage. Throughout the summer, we attend car shows, cruise-ins, and automotive events across the region, capturing thousands of photos and videos that are shared across our social media platforms. We also provide weekly cruise and car show schedules, helping enthusiasts stay informed about what’s happening throughout the area.
Beyond event coverage, we work with businesses both locally and nationally to create sponsorship opportunities and marketing partnerships. We collaborate with companies on event sponsorships, prize donations, raffle baskets, goody bag inserts, vendor opportunities, product promotions, and brand exposure through our events and social media channels. From small local businesses to nationally recognized automotive brands, we help connect companies with a passionate and engaged audience.
What sets Mahoning Valley Car Cruises apart is that we’re more than event organizers—we’re advocates for the entire automotive community. We actively promote events hosted by car clubs, nonprofits, businesses, and fellow organizers because we believe a stronger automotive community benefits everyone involved.
Today, our signature events include the Sunday Night Cruise at Quaker Steak & Lube Austintown, the Thursday Night Cruise at Rusty Mug Tavern & Grille, Cars & Coffee at Steel Valley Brew Works, and the Austintown Super Show. These events provide businesses, sponsors, vendors, and enthusiasts with opportunities to connect while creating memorable experiences for attendees.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built and the relationships we’ve developed over the years. Whether it’s helping a local business reach new customers, supporting a charitable cause, promoting an event, or showcasing someone’s prized vehicle, our goal has always been to create value for the people and organizations we work with. At the end of the day, Mahoning Valley Car Cruises is about bringing people together through a shared passion and helping the automotive community continue to thrive.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was spending weekends with my dad surrounded by cars. Saturdays often meant heading to Quaker City Motorsports Park, where I’d sit in the stands listening to the roar of the engines, watching the burnouts, and feeling the ground shake as the cars launched down the drag strip. There’s something about the sights, sounds, and excitement of race day that has stayed with me my entire life.
When we weren’t at the drag strip, we were usually at local car shows cruising around in our 1978 Chevy Camaro. Some of my favorite memories were attending the Friday night cruise-ins at A&W in Boardman and the Saturday night shows at Chili’s. Back then, those events felt huge to me, and I loved walking around looking at all the different cars and talking with the owners.
Another event I always looked forward to was the Super Nationals in Salem. Seeing hundreds of beautiful cars gathered in one place was something special and helped fuel my passion for the hobby.
Looking back, it wasn’t really about the cars themselves—it was about the time I spent with my dad and the people we met along the way. Those weekends introduced me to an amazing community and created memories I’ll carry with me forever. In many ways, those experiences are the reason Mahoning Valley Car Cruises exists today.
