Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Kana

Hi Jaclyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My love and passion for curating experiences and bringing people together started at a very young age, but it wasn’t until I planned my backyard tent wedding with over 250 guests, that I felt inspired to take my planning skills to the next level! Shortly after in 2019, I decided to start up Jaclyn Zorene Event Planning LLC and during the peak of Covid in 2020, I decided to pursue my wedding planning certification. As an engineer by trade and a few years of project management and operations experience under my belt, I knew I had the fundamental skills to successfully launch my own business!

Fast forward a few years and Jaclyn Zorene Event Planning has served many couples in the greater Columbus and Cleveland area. It has been such a pleasure to grow and work with so many couples who have trusted in me to help bring their wedding vision to life! Specializing in day-of wedding coordination is what I enjoy most at the moment, but I am always thinking of ways to further grow and expand my services to continue to help couples celebrate life’s biggest moments!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The entrepreneurial path, while very rewarding, also comes with its challenges. Thankfully, I have had the opportunity to continue to work full-time while building my business and serving incredible couples. Building brand awareness within the wedding community was slow to start. Many of my couples early on were people I knew or referrals of people I knew, which has grown to be the majority of my clientele! Now that my husband and I have relocated from Columbus to Cleveland (our hometown), I’m faced with the similar challenge of establishing roots and continuing to build brand awareness in a new area. Overall, I’m proud of the organic growth my business has experienced and I am excited for what the future holds!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As the owner and certified wedding planner at Jaclyn Zorene Event Planning, I have over 5 years of experience in the wedding and event industry! I currently specialize in day-of wedding coordination, otherwise known as month-of coordination. This package is perfect for a couple who has already pulled together their dream team and vision for their wedding day, but wants to ensure they have a stress-free experience in the weeks leading up to their big day! Instead of relying on family or friends to handle vendor coordination, manage the timeline or execute the couple’s vision, they have me, who thrives in the details and works closely with each couple leading up to the wedding to execute perfection.

There are so many talented creatives and planners in our industry that setting yourself a part from others can be challenging! My business is unique in the sense that I only take on 5-6 couples per year, so my couples experience a custom boutique feel throughout the year. I pride myself in being responsive, detail-oriented, passionate and continuously problem-solving to ensure my couple’s feel prioritized, calm and have the wedding of their dreams.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define and view success through a few different lens. For my business, if I can look back and say that I experienced growth, I learned a lesson or two and I had fun serving my couples, then I had a successful year! For my couples, if at the end of the wedding weekend my couples were able to be present in the moment, they had fun and they were overjoyed with how the celebrations turned out, that’s success in my eyes! For my fellow vendors, if they felt well-equipped with the timeline, we connected, and communication was clear leading up to and during the weekend, then I would consider that a successful vendor partnership. Success has certainly come in many different forms and at different times throughout my business journey so far!
