Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Bostick.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into health and wellness began 14 years ago after the birth of my first son. Like any mother, I wanted the absolute best for him. That desire led me into deep research, from vaccines and pharmaceuticals to nutrition, vitamins, and the products we used in our home. I wanted to understand what was truly safe and supportive for his growing body. The more I learned, the more I began to recognize how many everyday choices can place a burden on our health. That realization led me to start making intentional changes, “switching and ditching” for cleaner, more foundational options.
Along the way, I experienced my own personal health challenges after being misled by systems I had trusted. I spent years working to restore my health, and that season pushed me to dig deeper and truly understand how the body works and what it needs to function well. As I began to feel better, I found myself naturally helping others. For nearly 10 years, I answered questions, researched solutions, and supported people with their own health journeys, as well as their children’s and even their pets.
After spending time in prayer and seeking direction, it became clear this was more than just a passion, it was a calling. I began pursuing formal education through schools that aligned with my beliefs, earning certifications as a Certified Health Coach, Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, and now a Certified Traditional Naturopath. As I stepped into that next level, my husband and I knew it was time to take a leap of faith.
What I originally thought would take a year unfolded in just three months. Doors opened quickly, and we transitioned our family in a big way, shifting from me being a stay-at-home mom and my husband working full-time, to me stepping into full-time work while he became my greatest support behind the scenes. While Back to Eden is proudly a women-owned business, it would not be what it is today without my husband. His craftsmanship brought so much of our vision to life, building shelves, desks, and the foundation of our space, and he continues to work behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. He truly is the backbone that helps make this dream possible.
With unwavering dedication to health, family, and community, we founded Back to Eden Health & Wellness LLC in Urbana, Ohio with a simple mission: to help others pursue wellness by returning to foundational principles of health.
Today, Back to Eden is both a holistic wellness practice and a full-service health and wellness store. We offer a wide selection of professional-grade vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements, homeopathic remedies, and natural products, along with personalized wellness consultations, iridology assessments, Dr. Reams’ RBTI testing, holistic health coaching, and acute support visits. We also provide supportive services such as heat therapy and ionic foot baths.
Our team includes Certified Traditional Naturopaths, a Certified Health Coach, our son who is currently training as a Health Coach, and two nurses studying Functional Medicine. Together, we focus on providing thoughtful supplement guidance and practical education around lifestyle, foundational health principles, and balanced living, always encouraging individuals to work alongside their primary healthcare providers when needed.
As a husband-and-wife team raising six children, family is at the center of everything we do. Back to Eden is more than just a store, it is a welcoming space where people are truly listened to, supported, and empowered. Sometimes that support looks like simple lifestyle changes, other times it includes targeted supplements, but education is always our number one priority so people can build long-term, sustainable health.
We are incredibly grateful to serve Urbana and the surrounding communities and honored to walk alongside others as they take steps toward a healthier, more intentional life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say overall, it has been a fairly smooth journey, especially considering how much we stepped into that was completely new to us. Opening and running a brick-and-mortar business came with a learning curve, from understanding day-to-day operations to navigating things like taxes, inventory, and staying organized. There were definitely moments of figuring things out as we went and adjusting along the way.
That said, we didn’t face any major setbacks, and for that I’m incredibly grateful. Looking back, I truly feel blessed by how everything came together and how smoothly the process unfolded. Even the challenges we encountered felt manageable and helped us grow in confidence as business owners.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Back to Eden Health & Wellness is more than just a health store, it’s a place where people come to be heard, supported, and guided. We are both a holistic wellness practice and a full-service retail space, offering professional-grade supplements, natural products, and personalized wellness services designed to help people get to the root of what’s going on in their bodies.
What we specialize in, and what we’re most known for, is taking a deeper, more individualized approach. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether someone is coming in with something acute or looking for long-term support, we focus on education first, helping people understand their bodies, their habits, and how to make sustainable changes. Our services include wellness consultations, iridology assessments, RBTI testing, and holistic health coaching, all centered around foundational health principles.
What truly sets us apart is the environment we’ve created. People often tell us they feel comfortable, welcomed, and not rushed. We take the time to listen. Many of our reviews reflect that, highlighting not only our knowledge but also the genuine care and attention we give to each person who walks through our doors. We’ve been described as having a friendly atmosphere with a knowledgeable team that truly wants to help . That’s something we are incredibly proud of.
We are also proud to be a women-owned business, built from the ground up with faith, family, and purpose at the center. At the same time, our business wouldn’t be what it is without my husband, who works tirelessly behind the scenes. Together, we’ve created something that reflects both of our strengths and our shared mission to serve others.
Brand-wise, what we are most proud of is our integrity. We are intentional about what we carry, choosing high-quality, trusted products, and we are equally intentional about how we guide people. We don’t push products, we educate and support so individuals can make informed decisions for themselves.
At the end of the day, we want people to know that Back to Eden is a place where you can come as you are, ask questions, and take steps toward better health without pressure or confusion. Whether it’s through simple lifestyle shifts or more personalized support, our goal is to help people feel confident in their health journey and empowered to take ownership of it.
We are incredibly honored to serve Urbana and the surrounding communities, and we’re grateful every day for the trust people place in us.
What are your plans for the future?
We’re currently in an exciting season of growth. We recently purchased another building in Saint Paris, Ohio, with plans to expand what we’re able to offer to the community. One of our main goals is to bring in more healthier food options, making it easier for people to access nourishing, intentional choices in their everyday lives.
We’re exploring the addition of smoothies, teas, and healthy grab-and-go options for locals, something convenient while still aligned with our values of supporting the body in a natural way. We also plan to offer a thoughtfully curated selection of supplements, teas, spices, healthier snacks and drinks, food, and baking essentials to help support a more natural lifestyle at home.
Along with that, we’re looking forward to remodeling the building into a more modern, welcoming space that reflects the heart of our brand.
Right now, we’re in the planning and prayerful consideration phase, making sure every step aligns with our mission and truly serves the community well. We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing in a way that allows us to reach and help even more people.
