Hi Dearra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Nails piqued my interest when I was in college. I became obsessed with nail artistry then enrolled into school.
I went to work at a couple of hair salons, built my clientele up then opened my salon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, a lot of trial and error. Building clientele was challenging because customers have to trust that you, as a new nail tech can execute the style. The business side of the beauty industry is challenging.

We’ve been impressed with Diva Nails by Dearra , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I offer a variety of services from relaxing skincare treatments, body waxing, nail grooming, and acrylic services.

I’m known for my wild out-of-the box freestyles that I call “Diva Sets”

What sets me apart is that each service is catered and customized to each clients from music of their choice, a refreshing mock tail creating a relaxing experience they won’t forget.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I learned to always have a backup plan; press-on nails, emergency fund and other hustles to generate income for yourself. I also learned to keep exploring new things.
