Community Highlights: Meet Cory Greenberg of Greenberg Garage Doors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Greenberg.

Hi Cory, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started installing garage door almost 20 years ago after I was laid off from a factory job and it was only supposed to be a short-term job. i worked for almost 17 years for the big companies in the area and didn’t really care for how the outlook they had towards their employees. i had to have hand surgery and my current employer told me they couldn’t run their business around when i was able to come back to work or wait for the dr to allow me to go back to work so I was let go. was i recoverd from surgery i took a maintance job but had a few customers that still called me to work on there doors cause i had taken care of the for so many years so i bought my first truck and starting doing garage doors after i got off work from my full time job. When in a year i was forced to make a desicsion to either go full time or start turning down work. so November of 2025 i went full time installing and servicing garage doors and entry doors.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not been a smooth road especial when i was starting out i was working two jobs putting in 60-70 hours a week. In the beginning it was tough finding suppliers being a new business when other companies and been with some suppliers for 20-30 years and they didn’t want to step on toes of a long time customer and sell to a new kid on the block in there area.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Greenberg garage doors is a small family owned and operated business. unlike the bigger companies were one person calls you to set up a estimate, then someone else come and measures the job then the send a crew of installers that may have limited experience come install. at Greenberg garage doors the same person that measures the job installs the job. we treat customers how we would want to be treated . We are a pro door and invicta garage door dealer as wheel as lift master garge door openers. we offer 24hr emergency service and honest company that wants to do right by our customers

There would be No greenberg Garage doors with out the support of my wife and children with out them by my side i never would be able to be successful

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
in the next 5-10 years i see the industry moving more and more towards the technology side instead of being simple and easy or coast effective to repair certain things it will be more cost effective to replace instead of repair. witch for the blue-collar customer will be tough to deal with cause what coast around $400 for something a few years old that may not be under warranty would coast 2-300 to fix or spend another 400 and replace.

As time goes on and some of the guys with 10-20-30 years’ experience being moved into office positions companies having the knowledge on how to fix older units the younger guys aren’t going to know how to fix them and there going to tell the customers it needs because they don’t know how fix them
