Today we’d like to introduce you to Brock Malinowski.
Hi Brock, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a trailer park in Madison, Ohio. I never knew we didn’t have much money or that anything was wrong with living in a trailer until I was bullied about it one day in middle school. On the bus home that day, I passed all the businesses in town and decided that one day I’d own my own business, buy a home and buy one for my parents too.
I graduated with above a 4.0 GPA in high school and went to college at John Carroll University where I studied economics. In my senior year, I researched the lowest cost businesses to start and kept landing on insurance agencies as a solution.
I started my own insurance agency from nothing and grew it to $3.5 million dollars of premium in five years. I then began starting other businesses and currently own nine different companies at 33 years old.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship is never easy. It requires so much work to take something from an idea to a profitable reality and I tend to burn out a lot during the start up phases throughout my companies. The time commitment can be brutal and put strains on other areas of life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My companies are listed below:
Hixson & Malinowski Insurance Agency
Apex Real Estate
Fit & Fun (Youth Sports Programs and Training)
Front St Social (bar/restaurant/music venue)
Elder Home Renovations (home repair/remodeling business specializing in the elderly and disabled markets)
KO Clean (commercial cleaning and janitorial services)
Uncle Joe and Friends (property investing)
What’s next?
My goal is to be the world’s most prolific entrepreneur. It’s a crazy goal but it’s one that motivates me and keeps me working hard each day.
