Hi Alex & Amy White, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2014, we took a huge chance and bought what would become Peak Human Performance. Back then, we had a small, scrappy gym and even fewer resources—but we did have an amazing group of clients and athletes who believed in our big idea: true fitness isn’t just about sweating through workouts. It’s about strength, nutrition, mindset, and a supportive community.
Word got out fast, and by 2019 we’d outgrown two different spaces. That led us to our current 10,000-square-foot facility, built for anyone who wants more than a gym membership. It’s for those high performers who desire a place where they can come either alone or with their family to train hard, learn to eat well, think right, and actually be part of something special.
No cliques, no egos just progress and endless potential.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Heck no! We’ve weathered everything from surprise power outages to the craziness of COVID. We’ve made hires that didn’t work out and learned the hard way how critical the right team is. Through every twist and turn, we kept asking, “What can we learn from this?”
In our 11 years, we’ve stumbled more times than we’ve nailed it. But at the heart of every misstep has been our commitment to help people get healthier, stronger, and happier. Each setback was just another opportunity to get better. Because our clients knew we were in their corner; always fighting for their success.
We’ve just kept moving forward no matter what.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Peak Human Performance?
At its core, Peak Human Performance is a place where people of all ages, from eight up through 68, come to get stronger, healthier, and become more resilient; both within their body and mind. We’ve organized everything we do into four main types of services:
Ascend Adult Training: This is where we work one-on-one or in small groups to build real-world strength, energy, and confidence.
Academy Athlete Training: Our youngest clients, middle-schoolers through high-schoolers and sports teams, follow our proven speed and strength programs to chase big athletic goals.
ALIGN Pilates Studio: Here, it’s all about breathing, mobility, and core connection. We use Pilates to help people move better and feel more in tune with their bodies.
Corporate Workshops & Wellness: We bring those same principles of mindset work, movement quality, habit development and energy management, into offices and teams that want to perform at a higher level.
What really makes us different is that we care as much about who you become as about your workout numbers. We’ve got all the certifications and degrees – performance training, nutrition coaching, Pilates, kettlebells – you name it. But we believe none of that matters unless we help our clients build the habits, the mindset, and the identity of someone who’s committed to their own growth for long term success.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I believe one core lesson has shown up again and again over the years, even if we haven’t always called it by name:
“Every setback is a springboard for growth.”
Whether it’s a facility hiccup, an operational challenge, a team transition, or something a client faces, our first instinct is always to ask, “What can we learn from this?” That mindset isn’t always easy to maintain, but it’s proven to be the most successful way forward. It’s how we keep strengthening our community, refining our programs, and delivering better results for everyone. It’s our secret sauce and it’s what keeps us moving ahead, together.
