Today we’d like to introduce you to Sammi Young

Hi Sammi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had so many ideas of what I wanted to do for my career when I was younger, but I always got ahead of myself. I moved out at 19 & enrolled in community college for radiologic technology. I realized it was not for me. Yes, it was something I was interested in. No, it was not my passion. I’ve always been a super artistic person when I was younger. Makeup was something I got into from a young age. Lashes were something I had on just about every day since I was allowed to wear them in middle school. I started doing them when I was 19 out of my first apartment to make some money on the side while I was in college. It turned out to be much more than I expected & a lot of girls were loving my work. Now I’m 22, I have my own studio space I rent, & work for myself full time. Having this career really helped me make more girl friends as well, as I struggled making them when I was younger. I’ve always been the friend that gets ‘taken advantage’ of or is ‘walked on’ but having this business made me have stronger boundaries & respect myself more. It’s attracted nothing but loving & supportive ladies & I cannot wait to keep growing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. The training was intense & there were many times I wanted to give up because I was not getting the results I expected. Choosing such a tedious & straining career, I feel as if it suits me ironically. I’m the type of person to not give up until I get it done or do it better than expected. I’m definitely a perfectionist which has been a good thing in my career path.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in individual eyelash extensions, lash lifts, brows, & tooth gems.
I use premium lash supplies & have been known to help my clients natural lashes grow while still getting lash extensions. Something I’m most proud of is how strong I’ve built a connection with my clients, especially my longtime loyal clients. I strongly believe that what sets me apart from others is going the extra mile for my clients, always being dependable, & having a gentle touch. A lot of my clients have come from previous artists & mentioned how they had a bad experience with eyes burning, itching, etc. I take eye care extremely seriously.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Something that makes me happy is helping others. I’ve always been told that I am a healer & I believe words can have such a powerful impact on an individual. I grew up not having much of a safe space for emotions so I always think that it’s important to offer that for others because it goes a long way.
