Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My younger sister got married in 2010 and needed help coordinating her wedding. I fell in love with event planning while helping her research, plan & create a design for her wedding. Black Dress was born! I rebranded in 2020 to incorporate interior design. My enhanced brand is now Designs by Black Dress.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Managing and operating an active business behind the scenes has its challenges. Being responsible for every aspect of my business can be hectic, at times. However, the reward of working in an industry that I love and that I am truly passionate about is invaluable. I enjoy creating decor and interior designs for my clients. I would love to work on the creating and designing piece of my craft all day, but being an owner requires me to spend a lot of time working behind the scenes so I can get to the fun parts!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I create modern chic designs for weddings, birthdays, graduations, baby showers and business events, and more. I also am skilled in planning, logistics, researching, and procuring inventory. I’m most proud of the relationship I build with my clients and the look on their faces when they see the results. My quality of work and attention to detail makes me a great contender in this industry.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Happy clients and doing what I love is what success is to me.❤️
