Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToyia Jones.
Hi LaToyia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started in search of my own identity and the meaning of life. My biological mother died of a cocaine addiction and after her death, I knew that I had without question change the trajectory of my life. It wasn’t that I was going down a bad path, but after her death the certainty of life became questionable and I needed to add as much value as I could. With recent discoveries in the corporate space, I learned quickly I had a gift for being a catalyst for people seeking much like myself more out of life. Within short amounts of time, I was able to see them for who they were and help lessen the difficulty of them reaching their purpose. I jokingly said I Brought dead things alive. My peculiar talent lead me to begin a 10-year run of a suicide prevention non-profit where I would help thousands of young people and become the founder of the largest father and daughter dance in Cleveland. I would later write two children’s books and continue the work both directly and indirectly helping people see who they truly are. In 2019, after the death of my adoptive parents, I re-evaluated and set out to dedicate myself to a new path. Him & me LLC and Adventures of POA (children’s book) where I would continue the father and daughter work and to decrease any associated negative statistics.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all, my parents dying in 2019 (both of them at the same time) from a murder-suicide had to be one of the hardest things that I’ve had to overcome. Walking through that garage door and seeing two bodies of two people I owed so much to was more than difficult, words can’t even describe. Even more notable, I was the founder of a suicide prevention non-profit had my adoptive father (my blood uncle) die by suicide. It was unreal.
I’ve always felt like a kid out of place. Maybe that’s why I can very easily see where others belong, I’ve looked from the outside in for most of my life. A history of foster homes and abandonment, sleeping in crack houses, being left in cars. Suicidal ideations throughout a broken childhood and then my biological mother dying at in 2004.
A smooth road has not quite defined my life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I specialize in helping people see their authentic selves with no filter. I teach purpose, but most importantly I help to decrease the resistance and challenges that one faces when trying to navigate life past trauma and pain.
What sets me apart is my experience. Not necessarily all in education but in life. I have survived the story, and I am still here. Not having a father and being raised by my uncle helped me first had to understand the role of a father in a daughter’s life and the absence of one all in the same story. As a bonus, I also understand the “dad who steps” in. An estimated 63% of all suicides come from fatherless homes. I am determined to cultivate that relationship; globally abolishing the absent father stat. When daughters have healthy and loving relationships with their fathers, they are significantly more likely to do well in school, have healthy self-esteem, exhibit empathy, and pro-social behavior, and avoid high-risk behaviors such as drug use, truancy, and criminal activity.
What do you think about luck?
Luck has not played any part; it is all intention. Who I am. What I love. My purpose. Has all guided me to where I am today. My positions that I have held in life and business have all been assignments to help guide someone else on their paths. I am the vessel. Knowing that I have superpowers helps the world lean into who I am and I to it. We are partners in this strategy – nothing is by accident it’s all on time and within the timeframe that it should occur.
