Hi La’Nya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. 
My name is La’Nya Shalay. I am an artist. A rap artist to be specific. I go by “Nya The Truth.” You can find my music on all streaming platforms under Nya The Truth. I go by Nya THE TRUTH because, in my music, I am telling my story, my truth. I hope I can reach a wide audience that can resonate with my music. This is a never-ending journey I am on, and I am just enjoying the ride. Check me out. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely have not been a smooth road. It’s hard not having a team or a real support system, especially when you are good lol. It’s been a struggle maintaining real life and trying to chase your dream(s). 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an artist; I make music. As well as an inspiring actress currently taking acting classes and working on a new film called “A Toxic Love”. Be on the lookout for that. In the meantime, check out “Family First the Nina Ross Story” on YouTube. It’s still doing numbers. I’m proud of myself for not giving up and continuing to strive for greatness. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I am harder lol. 

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I think taking risk is a part of life: you live to learn and learn to grow. I moved to Atlanta from Cleveland with no friends or family. That may be one of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken. But I’m sure it won’t be the biggest one I will ever take. Life is about taking a chance. Whether you make it or not, at least you can say, “I tried,” and I didn’t give up.
