Check Out Jason Morse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Morse.

Jason Morse

Jason, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a mobile photographer about 6 years ago, just for fun. In 2019 I entered a few of my photos in a local contest and won, receiving my first publishing in the local fall guide in the City of Gahanna. From there, my hobby became a passion, landing my photography in 11 different exhibitions spanning all over North America as Greece, Sweden, Portugal, France, England, and Spain. Upgrading to a Canon T5, I have made it a goal to photograph hidden gems and random things to offer my own unique point of view.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The main obstacles and challenges I have really come across are finding the time to get my camera and travel to the destinations I come across through social media, word of mouth, and dumb luck, being a dad to 3 amazing teenagers, as well as a kitchen manager at an up-and-coming restaurant. Plus, editing can be a daunting task.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
At my full-time job, I am the Kitchen Manager at an old World War 2 Era tire factory, that was converted into a restaurant/bar and coffee roasters a few years ago, called Newark Station. Coming from a family of restaurateurs, I have over a decade of professional cooking under my belt. I am most proud of not only my accomplishments in such a short time but the amazing crew I have working with me.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
Being an essential employee during the years-long pandemic, fire, EMS, medical personnel, and truck drivers like myself at the time truly do have their limits on mental, physical, and emotional strength. But are true heroes, even more so than they already are, for the overwhelming amount of time and effort they poured into this country.
